Starter salad had a wonderful dressing that reminded me of satay peanut sauce. It was delicious.
The food was served very fast.
The satay appetizer was 4 pieces of perfectly cooked chicken with a sweet peanut sauce and another sweet sauce with cucumbers on the side. I dug in before I remembered to take a picture, but the presentation was nice and the dish was irresistible.
The Nam Tok (beef salad), is heaven on a plate. I ordered it spicy (scale: med, hot, spicy, Thai spicy) and I thoroughly enjoy spicy food. A lot of places will ‘pull their punches’ on the higher end of the spice scale, so their patrons don’t over zealously out spice their ability to enjoy the food. This place does NOT pull their punches, I’m glad i ordered spicy and not Thai spicy. Be warned it is hot, but you will definitely enjoy it. Many places use cheaper cuts of beef or just don’t add that much beef. Again, this place will surprise you. The beef was good quality, with no fat or gristle, was cooked perfectly, and there was plenty of it. This dish does not disappoint. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, there were a good amount of red onions and the sauce had a wonderful, spicy flavor. I am used to Yam Nur, but this tasted the same. As I understand it the only difference is the ground roasted rice in the Nam Tak. The result was more of a texture thing, but I thought at first that might have been the peppers because I ordered it so spicy. Again a VERY good dish.
When I find myself traveling out of town this way again I will definitely be back. Probably with the family in tow after they hear about tonight’s dinner.
I ordered a pad see-ew to go because I know I will enjoy this around midnight or perhaps for breakfast.
If you find yourself in Danville, VA. definitely try this place. You will not be disappointed.
I had wonderful service last night- Valentine’s night- but it was the first service issue I’ve seen since 2019…it was PACKED HOUSE, of course.
Customer was very upset about her long delay on special order food… for Valentine’s Day dinner. ♀️
I discovered a new wing of the restaurant and had a LOVELY experience.
10/10 recommend
The ONLY down side is it was a bit hidden and I could see why some people don’t like the parking lot (which is just because the area. But all that changes once you get inside!
This is a higher end experience, and so the food does not come out instantaneously. It is cooked to order, and so our spring rolls were hot and delicious. I ordered the Pad woon sen and it was the perfect sized portion. I hate getting too much food so that by the time I’m done eating I just feel like a balloon. This was the perfect amount. Hot, and delicious, I would definitely order it again. My dining companions were satisfied with their dishes, which included Pad Se Ew, Red Curry and Pad Thai.
I will definitely be eating there again when I return to Danville
Last but not least, the service was the best. What the restaurant world is missing. We were greeted immediately, we didn’t feel rushed to order, and our server explained the menu since it was our first time trying Thai. Very kind and patient.
I look forward to making this a go to spot.
Ambience was ok but I didn’t eat in. Overall, food is good and tasty. For about $50, food is priced high and expensive especially for Danville.
