The brisket was amazing, the Mac and cheese taste like what it does if you make it at home. But the star of the show is the ribs. They are seasoned to perfection and don’t even need any sauce. They are amongst the best ribs I have ever ate in my life.

Nope. Not BBQ by any means. Ribs are tough and cold, brisket is dry and has zero flavor, Mac n cheese isn’t cheesy, sausage has no flavor. The only decent thing was the sweet potato casserole and it wasn’t mind blowing. I’m glad they forgot half my order because it would’ve been more for me to throw away. I’ve had BBQ all over the country and this is hands down the worst I’ve ever eaten.

The Judson High School Band had the pleasure of enlisting Moody’s to make a spread for our UIL Area marching contest judges and staff on Saturday the 30th of October. We ordered the ribs, chicken, brisket, sausage, Mac and cheese, green beans, potato salad, cole slaw and baked beans. I tell you everyone that had the pleasure of securing a plate was very pleased and impressed with the food and only left bones on their plates . I judge bbq based on if I can eat the meat without sauce and ooh wee you can, it’s seasoned to perfection.
Now the sauce is a sweet sauce but has a nice kick to it and is a great accompaniment to the meat
The sides were seasoned just right so no matter your preference you could enjoy the food. Now the potato salad impressed me the most. This was some very good potato salad.
All in all everything we purchased was delicious and the service was impeccable. The owner ensured we had everything we needed to serve our judges their meals.
If I’m ever in need of a bbq meal I will definitely use Moody’s again

To start, the service is incredible! The employees are so warm and welcoming and that already had me excited to chow down!! And after not so careful consideration, I came to the conclusion that this is THE BEST BBQ ive had in a while!!!! The meat is so juicy and tender and the food is seasoned to perfection and tastes like a bite of heaven! Ive even tried the cat plate and lemme tell you, at moodys they don’t miss! I always love to support my people and I’m so glad I found this BOMB A$$ BBQ joint to enjoy quality time with my family and eat delicious food!!!!

Received a DoorDash delivery earlier today, the ribs were not tender and the meat was not well seasoned. Same for the brisket, not tender and cut in huge slices with large parts of fat and only edges seasoned but meat not flavorful. Very displeased was my first time trying.

My first impression:
They clean their chicken….like they actually take the time to clean it and it was well seasoned. The ribs were juicy and the seasoning sticks to the meat so beautifully. When dipped in the BBQ sauce I found my self in my happy place. The collard greens are worth every dollar(no that it is expensive. The greens are tender and slightly sweet but not over welmingly sweet (I hate sweet greens & prefer a vinegary tang to mine) but yawl the owner miss Melanie put her feet in them greens!! I was pleased. For $15 i received 2 meats (a chicken quarter, & 3 bone-in rib pieces) 2 sided (collard greens, sweet potatoes casserole) 1 piece of Texas toast, some sliced pickles & onions, one small container of BBQ sauce (pretty sure it had a vinegar base). A drink didn’t come with it but she gave me one anyways (thank you!) And she was patient and kind as I Scrutinized the entire menu trying figure out what I wanted. Unfortunately that day they didn’t have brisket which I absolutely loved to try when I go to barbecue restaurants. The food quantity was enough for one person in my opinion. I couldn’t imagine sharing that food with anyone else especially not sharing the sides. Or maybe it was because it was so good. They also offer military discount.
Negatives: small parking however they are planning to relocate in March 2022 are looking for a new home! If they cannot find a place soon enough then they may shut down for a while…

We ordered the catfish plate and the seafood gumbo and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. The gumbo was fresh, with delicious whole crab, sausage, chicken and okra. The catfish was cooked to order, perfectly seasoned. We had the mac & cheese and sweet potato casserole as our sides and they were also delicious. Service was outstanding, we felt so welcome and comfortable. Do not hesitate to visit, you will not be disappointed! Thanks to the amazing women that run this place, Moody’s is a new favorite!

The dry rub was heavy on the pepper, giving the pork ribs some extra punch… And fall off the bone tender, and naturally juicy.
The brisket was melt in your mouth tender, a tasty side combo, but not enough smoke flavor for my taste.
The sausage was delicious. Just a nice smooth combination of flavors, juicy.
We had the mac and cheese, potato salad, and green beans as our side, and all we fresh, home made, and very tasty.
Don’t leave without a cobbler… We had the peach.
Nice, friendly service, just like you would expect at a small town BBQ joint.
One caution, order early if you want it for dinner, as they tend to run out around 5pm. This was my third trip, and this time I went at 11am, and bought extra.

The sweet tea here is literally the beat sweet tea in Converse. Better than bush’s!!
As for the pulled pork sandwich, absolutely amazing. I read some of the comments and they said the bbq sauce was tasteless but that’s absolutely not true??? It’s so amazing!! Worth the try and we will be back!!
