MOOCHIE’s Meatballs and More was born in September 2003, serving fresh homemade Italian food and the best Philly Cheesesteaks and meatball sandwiches in Utah. Where did the name “Moochie’s” come from? It’s a nickname Joanna got from her dad that comes from an Italian word we can’t figure out how to spell. Almost immediately, Moochie’s began winning both local and national awards for their fresh, handmade food and it wasn’t long before the sandwich shop took over the pottery shop completely. In 2009, Moochie’s was selected to be one of seven restaurants to be featured on the Food Network’s, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” program hosted by Guy Fieri. Of the seven Salt Lake restaurants, Moochie’s was the only one selected by Guy to be on the…

I was finally able to get back to SLC with my wife and bring her to Moochie’s.
My first experience was 10-15 years ago while working away from home. And I ate here a few times a week while here. The sandwiches are amazing and service is great.

Are you tired of little soggy fried pickles?? Well get over to Moochie’s and have there delightfully crispy pickles fries!!

Wish you would expand into Idaho

Food was freaking amazing and I have to come back in a year from Nevada to go to a doctor’s appointment and I’m going to be dreaming about the menu and the food here literally. I only wish I lived closer so I can come back and I’ve ordered cheese steaks all over Reno, Fallon, Carson City, Nevada. Please I wish and hope and pray that you guys will open up a shop in Reno one day or in Tahoe you will make a killing. Best Philly I’ve had in years

Affordable, good value + filling. I got the italian 6” and it was stuffed full with deli meats, very tasty. Friends got the regular cheesesteak and fries which also looked pretty good.

I was in town for work and Googled places Diners Drive Ins and Dives had been in SLC and I don’t know how or why I stumbled on this but 10 OUT OF 10. I was in town for a lil over 2 wks and by the last few days they knew my face (lol and my order). Teeny tiny lil corner spot which EXCELLENT food. I am NOT a “cheesesteak” kinda girl but let me tell you – they had something for everyone. I personally loved the hot wing sub with their homemade sauce (which I bought lol). The staff was INCREDIBLE. So kind and friendly – which says a lot in these times – unfortunately it’s far and few between. They have some indoor and outdoor seating. They are on the corner so you can park up/down a residential street with ease. I am back home and miss them so much. One of my visits I ran into a couple who flew in to visit friends and came directly from the airport – I can see that. Well, thanks for the memories Moochies. Ya’ll are ROCKSTARS!

Visited here on a Thursday evening with my wife and left pretty disappointed.

We ordered a 12″ Philly with a side of fries and onion rings and split everything.

The fries were awful. They were inedible salty and seriously soggy with no texture. We opted not to finish them.

All the veggies in the Philly were cooked to the point of mush which rendered them useless.

The onion rings at least had some texture, but they were really simple.

We dined on the outside patio and there was trash and food scraps laying around which drew a ton of ants. We couldn’t find a table without putting our feet on ants. I think a quick little sweep could avoid this.

I would say the biggest positive I experienced was the portion sizes. There was a good amount of fries (unfortunately they were disgusting), there was adequate onion rings, and a healthy helping of meat in the Philly which was a pleasant surprise. We left here full!

Unfortunately given this experience though, I don’t see a good reason to come back.

Oh wow, this place has some of the best Philly steak sandwiches I’ve ever had! I was genuinely impressed by how flavorful and delicious they were. The meatball sandwich was also a standout. The restaurant itself was very clean, with plenty of outdoor seating on the patio and even a cozy side house area. Highly recommended!

We saw this on DDD and we were excited to try it. Honestly, we were very disappointed. The fries were SUPER soggy. They had no crunch whatsoever. They came straight out of the fryer and were so bendy and flexible we couldn’t even finish a side that we split between two people.

We decided to add peppers and mushrooms. The peppers were obliterated and the mushrooms were from a can. I tried to rip one in a bite and it wouldn’t split it two…. It was so rubbery.

I didn’t think the sauces had any real flavor to them…. If you blind folded me I couldn’t tell them apart.

The highlight… the onion rings were good and crunchy but they didn’t have any special seasoning.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t spend $18 on a sub here again.

I visited Moochie’s during a recent trip after hearing great things—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I tried both the Philly cheesesteak and the Italian deli sandwich, and both were fantastic.

The Philly cheesesteak was on par with the best I’ve ever had—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cheesy. But the standout for me was the Italian deli sandwich. It’s something different, packed with flavor, and honestly, I’m already thinking about coming back just for that. It’s a must-try.

We also ordered the sweet potato fries, which were really good and came with three different sauces—all of them tasty and a nice complement to the meal.

There’s plenty of outdoor seating, which made the experience even better, and the service was solid throughout. If you’re in the area and love a good sandwich, Moochie’s is definitely worth the stop.
