MOOCHIE’s Meatballs and More was born in September 2003, serving fresh homemade Italian food and the best Philly Cheesesteaks and meatball sandwiches in Utah. Where did the name “Moochie’s” come from? It’s a nickname Joanna got from her dad that comes from an Italian word we can’t figure out how to spell. Almost immediately, Moochie’s began winning both local and national awards for their fresh, handmade food and it wasn’t long before the sandwich shop took over the pottery shop completely. In 2009, Moochie’s was selected to be one of seven restaurants to be featured on the Food Network’s, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” program hosted by Guy Fieri. Of the seven Salt Lake restaurants, Moochie’s was the only one selected by Guy to be on the…

My first experience was 10-15 years ago while working away from home. And I ate here a few times a week while here. The sandwiches are amazing and service is great.
Are you tired of little soggy fried pickles?? Well get over to Moochie’s and have there delightfully crispy pickles fries!!
Wish you would expand into Idaho
We ordered a 12″ Philly with a side of fries and onion rings and split everything.
The fries were awful. They were inedible salty and seriously soggy with no texture. We opted not to finish them.
All the veggies in the Philly were cooked to the point of mush which rendered them useless.
The onion rings at least had some texture, but they were really simple.
We dined on the outside patio and there was trash and food scraps laying around which drew a ton of ants. We couldn’t find a table without putting our feet on ants. I think a quick little sweep could avoid this.
I would say the biggest positive I experienced was the portion sizes. There was a good amount of fries (unfortunately they were disgusting), there was adequate onion rings, and a healthy helping of meat in the Philly which was a pleasant surprise. We left here full!
Unfortunately given this experience though, I don’t see a good reason to come back.
We decided to add peppers and mushrooms. The peppers were obliterated and the mushrooms were from a can. I tried to rip one in a bite and it wouldn’t split it two…. It was so rubbery.
I didn’t think the sauces had any real flavor to them…. If you blind folded me I couldn’t tell them apart.
The highlight… the onion rings were good and crunchy but they didn’t have any special seasoning.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t spend $18 on a sub here again.
The Philly cheesesteak was on par with the best I’ve ever had—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cheesy. But the standout for me was the Italian deli sandwich. It’s something different, packed with flavor, and honestly, I’m already thinking about coming back just for that. It’s a must-try.
We also ordered the sweet potato fries, which were really good and came with three different sauces—all of them tasty and a nice complement to the meal.
There’s plenty of outdoor seating, which made the experience even better, and the service was solid throughout. If you’re in the area and love a good sandwich, Moochie’s is definitely worth the stop.
