We had an excellent experience at Moobongri Soondae in San Gabriel! The food here is truly outstanding, and the service is exceptional—every staff member is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcomed the moment you walk in.

Their house specialty, the soondae (Korean blood sausage), is a must-try. It’s rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, and you can tell they put real care into crafting each dish. Along with their specialty, they offer a great variety of classic Korean comfort foods—everything from hearty soups to sizzling stir-fries—and each one is delicious, generous in portion, and very reasonably priced. It’s the kind of food that keeps people coming back.

The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with a clean, modern interior and a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. They also have outdoor seating, which is a huge plus if you prefer some fresh air while dining. Even the washrooms are well-maintained, which says a lot about how much they care about their customers’ experience. And the free parking right in front of the establishment makes visiting incredibly convenient—no stress, just good food. We also requested a refill on our soup broth and ask for extra noodle and they did not charge us extra for that and we are grateful. They also top up our water whenever we are running low and they are always attentive to respond to our every need. Kudos guys for a job well done.

If you’re looking for authentic Korean cuisine, great value, and warm hospitality, I highly recommend Moobongri Soondae. With their big portions, great prices, and consistently tasty dishes, it’s a wonderful place to dine whether you’re a first-timer or a regular. Definitely worth a visit!

This place is great! What is better than good food, good service with it! The servers were quite nice, even though they may sometimes forget certain things that may come with certain dishes, they were quick to help and get whatever we needed.

We tried the bossam boiled pork, seafood pancake, bimbimbap, and seafood soon tofu. I didn’t know if they had a pan fried Bossam, I swear I thought I saw another table order it. Quite pricey for the seafood pancake but it was quite good.

The place is clean and there is plenty of seating. They have an underground parking lot shared with all the neighbor shops. I would definitely stop by again for some more Korean food! Until next time !

I dine here at least three times a month, and everyone I bring ends up coming back on their own! My daughter loves their gamjatang, and the seafood pancake is the best I’ve ever tasted loaded with fresh seafood and full of flavor. The service is excellent, though sometimes you just need to wait a bit for a table to be cleared. Their soup has no MSG, and it’s so clean and rich that you won’t get a dry mouth the next day. Definitely one of my favorite Korean restaurants in San Gabriel!

I recently visited this Korean restaurant, and to my surprise, as a Latino, the staff spoke Spanish — which made the experience even better! I tried their $11.99 lunch special, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive; they even let you know up front that the soup might need a little salt to suit your taste, which I really appreciated.
I highly recommend this place to our Hispanic community — you won’t be disappointed! Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The broth is flavorful and not too salty (perfect if you like to season to taste). The seafood pancake is super crispy, and their pickles are addictive . Friendly staff, and we even got free samples on the way out.

I didn’t expect to find such authentic Korean comfort food in San Gabriel! The soondae soup here is amazing — rich, hearty broth with tender meat and flavorful soondae. The portions are generous and the staff are super friendly. Definitely one of my new favorite spots for a cozy meal.

Visited Moobongri Soondae in San Gabriel for an authentic Korean meal. The Blood Sausage and Pork Platter was flavorful, with tender pork and perfectly cooked blood sausage. The Cold Noodles were refreshing with a tangy broth. Both the Pork Soup and Beef Bone Soup were rich and hearty. The Seafood Pancake was crispy and filled with fresh seafood. The Grilled Short Ribs were tender and juicy, with a sweet-savory glaze. Moobongri Soondae delivers a true taste of Korea—a must-try for Korean food lovers.

Great tasty Korean food. Their soup and Korean sausage is unique and good. Food took about 25 mins to come out. They serve your 4 different side dishes too, which you can request more for free. We order a combo and 1 extra dish, cost about $50. Plenty of food for two people. Overall a unique experience to try something different from the usual KBBQ.

Moobongri Soondae (무봉리 순대) – A Hearty Korean Comfort Spot in San Gabriel

If you’re craving authentic Korean comfort food, Moobongri Soondae in San Gabriel delivers. Specializing in soondae (Korean blood sausage), soups, and pork dishes, this low-key spot serves up bold flavors in generous portions. Whether you’re in the mood for spicy broths or crispy pancakes, it’s a solid choice for a casual lunch or dinner.

What We Ordered:
* Spicy Pork Neck Bone Soup (Gamjatang)
* Sampler Combo (Soondae + Boiled Pork)
* Large Bossam
* Seafood Pancake
* Spicy Cold Buckwheat Noodles (Bibim Naengmyeon)
* Steamed Egg
* Kimchi fried rice

Highlights:

Our servers on a super late dinner Saturday night were amazing. I arrived a bit early before my cousins and one of the server came out and got me a chair while I was waiting. Also, they sat me once the table was ready and my cousins haven’t arrived yet.

Spicy Pork Neck Bone Soup (9/10):
This was the standout. The broth had a deep, spicy flavor with just enough heat to keep things interesting. The pork neck bones were tender and fall-off-the-bone soft. It came with a tangy mustard-like dipping sauce that added a sharp, slightly sweet contrast to the rich meat unexpected but seriously good. Served bubbling hot with perilla leaves, napa cabbage, and potatoes comforting and filling.

Sampler Combo (7/10):
If you’re new to soondae, this is a good place to start. The blood sausage had a soft, chewy texture with subtle seasoning. The boiled pork slices added variety and paired well with the fermented shrimp sauce.

Large Bossam (8.5/10):
Thinly sliced, well-cooked pork belly served with napa cabbage, garlic, and ssamjang. It was clean-tasting and not overly fatty. The portion size is generous great for sharing with 3-4 people.

Seafood Pancake (9/10):
Golden-brown and crisp on the outside, packed with squid and scallions. Could’ve used a little more seasoning, but it’s still a satisfying appetizer, especially dipped in the vinegar soy sauce.

Spicy Cold Buckwheat Noodles (10/10):
Chewy and refreshing with a spicy-sweet gochujang sauce. Topped with sliced cucumber, pickled radish, and half a boiled egg. A perfect balance to the heavier pork dishes.

Side Dishes (9/10):
The kimchi, pickled radish, and seasoned mushrooms were delicious–not just filler. Each banchan held its own and paired nicely with the mains. Crisp, fresh, and well-seasoned.

Less Impressive:

Steamed Egg (6/10):
Light and fluffy, but not much to write home about. It’s the standard version you’ll find at most Korean spots–nothing bad, just nothing memorable either.

Kimchi fried rice (7/10)
Solid execution with bold flavor. The rice was nicely seared with just the right amount of tangy kimchi and a hint of spice. It came topped with a fried egg, which added a creamy richness when mixed in. Great as a side dish to share or a satisfying meal on its own if you’re not in the mood for soup. Not overly greasy, and portion size was fair.

Areas for Improvement:
* Service:
Staff is polite but can be stretched thin during peak hours. Maybe staff up during peak hours and on the weekends. Other than that I didn’t experience this myself but from previous reviews I read.

* Seating:
The space is small and fills up quickly. Tables are close together, so it’s not the best spot for a quiet meal. Expect a wait during dinner rush.

Tips:
* Parking: Plaza lot and underground garage available shared with Yimei
* Payment: Credit cards accepted
* Pro Tip: Come early for lunch or late dinner to avoid the crowd. Go early and scan the QR code to join the waitlist
* There is patio seating as well

_____

If you’re in the area and in the mood for something spicy, porky, and deeply comforting, Moobongri Soondae is a dependable go-to. The pork neck soup alone is worth the visit, especially with that zippy dipping sauce and the banchan are strong enough to hold their own.

I went here with my friends and we got a large combo gamjatang and a large bossam and it was delicious! It came with a lot of food and it was definitely enough for the four of us. They also refilled our side dishes very quickly whenever we asked. The waiters were very attentive and kind at all times. The interior of the restaurant was very spacious and modern. I will for sure be coming back to try out the other combos!
