I’ve lived in Houston area for 25 years.. how have I never heard of this place. Well I’m glad I finally made it here. You take the Independence Parkway to the very end right by the Lynchberg Ferry landing. The restaurant is upstairs and has great views of the ship traffic coming in and out. The inside is very clean and decorated nice. Grab a booth by a window if you can.
Our waitress was wonderful she was very attentive and offered help with the menu with it being our first visit.
I ordered the redfish and my wife got the stuffed shrimp. We got salads with ranch and cinnamon rolls and bread too. Everything was good my wife really enjoyed hers, my redfish was a little dry but tasted good. The bread and rolls were hot out of the oven.
We really enjoyed sitting a little while and watching the ships pass in and out of the channel.
The dining room was not packed but very busy with a constant flow of new customers. It seems they could handle pretty large groups as we saw them setting up a few 14-20 top tables.
All in all this was a great find and we would love to come back, maybe even bringing some family with us.

Had fish and shrimp platter/ enough for ( $2.00 charge to split worth it)
Onion ring were huge and delicious. Comes with homemade rolls and cinnamon rolls! Eat that cinnamon roll first- you don’t wanna be full when that time comes!

Monument Inn has been and will always be the best seafood spot in the greater Houston area. Dylan is a beast of a waiter for my 9 guys for our company party. And the bartender with the long hair (male) is also great. The experience here has been excellent all my life and I’m 45. Just buy your table the all you can eat, sit back, enjoy the drinks and scenery. If you don’t already know about this place… you aren’t from the H

Absolutely best seafood anywhere! The fried platter of fish, shrimp, and oysters was so tasty and not too much batter. Do yourself a favor and ask for Edgar, great waiter!

First time at the Monument Inn. I was not a fan of the breading on the fried shrimp. Personal preference…shrimp were good. Service was amazing even with the trainee in tow. Calamari breading was more to my liking. Bread a cinnamon rolls were included and outstanding. Scenery outside of the ship channel and San Jacinto Monument Park was delightful.

Food was great with large portions. Our server was very kind and while it wasn’t on the kids menu he prepared butter noodles for my daughter. The location was great as you could watch the ships pass by.

I usually get my food to go but today decided to eat here. The salmon is cooked just like I like, medium. Not dried out, not too raw. The steamed vegetables are very good too. And the rolls and cinnamon roll, whew. To start off i had a lemon drop martini that was veeerrry good!
Waiter is attentive and pleasant. Got my order right!

My first visit to the Monument Inn in more than 15 years was a pleasant surprise. You never know what the passage of time will do to the quality and the ambience of a restaurant like this. However, I was not disappointed. First, the drive up to the Monument Inn, you pass through a very historic park, honoring the history of Texas. Then as you approach the restaurant, you can’t help but notice it’s right on the water as Ship traffic passes back-and-forth. Now you’re in a great mood for a good meal. Patrons are directed upstairs, where the many are provided a wonderful view of the water. From there it’s pure goodness. The appetizers with stuffed crab, shrimp, oysters, alligator and more were delicious. The famous cinnamon rolls seem to have grown larger over time , but just as delicious. The main entrée was again a whole assortment of essentially fried seafood was hot fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable. I can’t say a negative thing about the entire experience.

We were extremely pleased with the Monument Inn! A bustling, friendly & welcoming establishment considering it is in a public park! The service was fantastic and our server was very attentive and charming. The food was great all the way around! Not one bad item of the many that we ordered!! You also won’t find better food at this price! Highly recommended!!
