Scenic and cool location, but I was disappointed with the overall experience. The food was just ok and not a good value for the money. I had previously only visited the Coconut Grove location which was better. As a Wedding and Event DJ in Miami, South Florida, and the Florida Keys, I’m extra focused on hospitality and good service which was lacking here. The entrees came out separately and the sides were cold. Also, the food lacked flavor/seasoning. We had the Mahi and Salmon entrees which were just ok. Hope they’ll improve. Enjoyed the live band and overall vibe of the location which has both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a little hard to find the restaurant from the parking garage, and they could use better signage.

Our misfortune began the moment we entered the establishment, we were sat by the pool/bar area, here are all of the storms of incompetence we valiantly faced
1. Band music designed to reach the entire dining populous, not designed for comfort or hearing safety of those near (not a problem on its own) we moved tables outside of the indoor area.
2. Ordered appetizers and meals, I ordered the steak churrasco; appetizers come in and I’ve got to admit I enjoyed the Jalapeño poppers and stone crab claws, my next physcological battle arrives when my waiter comes to tell me that they are out of my requested entree, keep in mind this is 20mins after I ordered it, so I end up switching it to the “steak frites”. Up until now I have no interest in leaving a negative review, I understand these are basic inconveniences.
3. The final straw: I recieve my “steak frites” and immediately gaze in agony at the abysmal experience ahead, knowing even 3 glasses of water may not suffice to scarf this $47.00 + 18% + Tax abomination down the hatch
What did I recieve to warrant such a reaction? A charred block of overcooked meat, no sauce to be seen, only a pile of fries to wipe your tears with.
Google instructions on serving steak frites:
“Serve: Slice the steak and serve alongside the fries, topped with sauce or butter.”
What I enjoyed:
Good, chill atmosphere
Jalapeño poppers
French fries
Stone crab claws
Will I be coming back? No.
Attached are comparison images of the steak frites from what I received vs what I expected for $60 (after fees & tax)

Regrettably Monty’s gone downhill in recent years. The food is way overpriced and mediocre at best. My mahi sandwich ($24) and tacos ($22) were dry as a shoe! We used to love this place but I guess it’s time to move on.

Actually our neighborhood likes this place. I eat out a lot … 350 nights a year and I travel a lot. Next trip I have to go to the Middle East …and realized I didn’t have time to go far since I had a publishing deadline and I landed at Monty’s. It is definitely more festive in the evening. The outside bar opposite the pool is popular. There are TVs for sports. The menu is hit and miss. Some things good where other things are so so. Let’s call this a neighborhood bar with a fantastic view of the moored boats with that serves food. Today instead of going to Burger King or Burgermeister I ordered a burger here. The bun was stale ( yes it was toasted or grilled but the bun was hard on the edges. But the real killer was the GREASE and then omg the NaCl or salt. Maybe the cook had forgotten that he had salted it and did a double dose. Believe me it was salty. You could see the edema in my leg.
My waiter ( Jonathan ) was very nice and attentive. Actually, he was apologetic but as I said to him-this is a cook error.
The hostess staff was lifeless.
There are other things I would share but I like this place and our neighborhood needs reasonably priced food BUT 31.00 for a so so experience was a tad much. Last time I got the fish and chips and even Prince William would have been pleased.

Found this gem in Miami beach when we stayed there the night before our cruise. It was late afternoon so we had missed the chance to enjoy the pool.
We ordered food which arrived quickly and was delicious. They had a live dj keeping the place buzzing which was good. There was a great mix from all age groups. So all in all a great vibe.

I’ve been to plenty of mediocre seafood joints by the water, but Monty’s wasn’t one of them. Family of 5 eating outdoors (great marina views!), and everyone had the best time and enjoyed our tour of the menu (stone crab claws, onion rings, nachos, grilled shrimp, etc.). Great happy hour specials, and the Painkillers were delightful. Shout out to Enrique for the killer service, daring me to sample the crab, and pointing us toward the key lime pie. He was great with the kids, kept everything moving, and didn’t miss a beat. 11/10 would recommend.

The venue has a nice vibe but if you go at night it is cold. At least when I went. The food was decent nothing spectacular. They were supposed to have live music but didn’t.

Our server was fantastic. He was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was perfect. Prices are fair and the atmosphere of sitting outside was wonderful. Unfortunately I live far away or this would be my go to restaurant

This place is kind of cool. There is live music while looking over the marina. It was busy in the evening. We ordered calamari, tuna tartar, and fish of the day. The food was amazing, fresh, and tasty. The waiter was friendly, smile and enjoy what they are doing which is very nice

Overall a decent enough experience although was expecting a little more in terms of both the food quality and atmosphere given the reviews I’d read on here. Food we had was nice enough just nothing particularly special or outstanding, likewise the atmosphere was quite subdued/quiet. Service was great though and seeing the sunset over the boats and skyline is definitely worth the price paid (just under $300 for 4)
