We went there early enough in a Saturday evening, so we were seated right away. Calamari was soggy, soft, and under seasoned. The burrata plate has a good variety of food, but the burrata was not creamy as it should. Fortunately the Chicken Masala saved the meal! Not only the portion was huge, the masala sauce was delicious! The review would have been 3⭐ if not for the Chicken Masala.

First time at Monty’s and we were so impressed!! We had a reservation, but arrived an hour early and our table wasn’t ready yet so we decided to take two seats at the bar. We received great service from mark! He was attentive and fast plus the food was excellent. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, which had the perfect cheese pull. The penne with vodka sauce was delicious, order it with sausage crumbles. Very generous portions. We will be back!

Had a great meal at Monty’s. Really did enjoy their red sauce. Everyone’s meal was good except the chicken parm came out a little over cooked so it was tough.

Wife ordered the short ribs but subbed in penne which turned out great.

Son ordered the pesto with shrimp and loved his.

Fried ravioli was not breaded but we did enjoy it.

Will definitely come back again and want to try some other things.

Came back again! This time I had the chicken marsala. We forgot to make a reservation and had to wait. Told us an hour and turned our to be 40 minutes. Highly recommend reservations. Enjoyed our dinner and will be back again.

I have been wanting to try this spot for so long and finally had the opportunity tonight on our 11th anniversary dinner! Super busy place and even with a reservation I did wait a little while before being seated. Once seated our server took our drink order which consisted of their Negroni for myself and a lemon drop for my wife. Both cocktails were done with much detail and the finish on both of them were fantastic. This evening we ordered the bruschetta, burrata salad, chicken parmigiana, the mushroom ravioli in a creamed gorgonzala sauce with shrimp. The appetizers and salad were bar none a whimsical experience. Simple and elegant pieces that were a symphony of flavors that enticed the palette. I had the chicken parmigiana and I ordered it based on a reel I saw on IG. It is a very eye pleasing dish! I also ordered one meatball to accompany the side of spaghetti as well. The chicken itself was pounded very thin and the texture and flavor complimented eachother very well. I am very particular when it comes to spaghetti and I feel it is a huge determination of how well of an Italian restaurant this establishment is. Was it the best? No, but definitely not the worst. The flavor was enticing and not too acidic. The noodles itself though not overcooked, I felt could have used another minute to make them perfect. I’ve had my fair share of overcooked pasta over the years and would much rather prefer this over an overcooked plate of pasta. The mushroom ravioli my wife had was simply amazing! That cream gorgonzola sauce was just unforgettable and will leave me dreaming tonight of how well it complimented the ravioli! If your order this, the additional shrimp is a must as it completes this dish so well! If you come here based on my review, please do not leave here without a slice of Tiramisu to finish the night off. Your stomach will thank you later! I have been searching for a good tiramisu for quite some time since Touche closed down in 2014. My mission has finally been completed! The best part is, that you can also get the tiramisu at their sister restaurant at Monte Lupo Market!

Happy eating everyone!

Incredible vibes and service. Wine was great. Food was sorely lacking. My penne vodka felt watered down, and had very little spice or even seasoning. The eggplant parm was OK but the sauce and pasta were dry. The mozzarella sticks were dry and didn’t feel fresh.

Server was GREAT, and the place inside is super cute. Got the Sangiovese and it was delightful.

Some of us loved out meals, others thought it was just average. I had the chicken Marsala and the sauce was watered down and the chicken was dry, 2 stars. The ravioli was good and so was the chicken parmigiana.

Honestly best dinner ive had since moving to Portland.
I just kept hearing about this place and how u have to pay a deposit to even book a reservation. Its only 15 bucks, and wow worth every penny. Everything we ordered was amazing!
To start, the fried Raviolo was heavenly and perfectly crispy outer and soft mushroom middle made me want more. Garlic toast was perfection with our main courses we split Chicken Marsala and Gnocchi Bolognese. I was in love with the Marsala sauce, just perfectly sweet and savory with mushrooms and chicken breast that just melted. Served with roasted potatos that were seasoned perfect, and nice crunchy brocolini.
Then the gnochi bolognese was so good and did not dissapoint! With super soft and delicate gnocchi that had a beautifully well balanced bolognese sauce that i wiped up with the garlic bread.
Lastly for dessert we had the Tiramasu and it was heavenly as well and i honestly was in pure food bliss by the end, and wanted to lay down and die happy. You know ur loving the food when you shoulder dance after every bite!
I 100% reccomend going for a date or small group.
Also everything was very reasonably priced, and i almost expected it to be more expensive. I will be coming back asap and bringing friends.
Staff was all very nice and attentive. Bottom line…just go! ♡

Omg where do I even begin, this is literally the most divine Italian food in Portland, hands down. I savored the spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs and it was truly transcendent. My husband indulged in the ravioli and he absolutely adored it!!! It was so sublime we celebrated my birthday and Valentine’s Day here and returned the very next day. I simply couldn’t get enough. Mark at the bar was funny & very attentive. We will definitely be back way sooner than my waistline wants me too

First and last time, very disappointing. We heard the place was good, but no. The place is so loud and echoes, we couldn’t hear each other across the table! Hang some sound dampening cloth for gods sake. We had the fried mushroom ravioli appetizer. No mushrooms, just a mushroom paste and it tastes like it is straight out of the frozen box from sysco. Chicken parmigiana was the entree and it was MEH at best. Sadly I have had better food at olive garden. Service was dreadful, we counted four different servers and one bartender coming to our table. Booo! Mass produced service at it worst. Don’t waste your time! Make a reservation at Ginos down the street and get some actual good food and service!
