The steak was the most amazing I’ve ever had. And the lamb sliders were amazing and I loved all of their sauces. I got the millefuielle for dessert and it was also amazing. Very quiet nice place with tea light candles and a lot of drink options including mocktails. My waitress Dallas went above and beyond. 10/10 reccomend.

We had a wonderful dinner at Montpellier. The Brussels sprouts, stuffed dates, and French onion soup were definite highlights — flavorful and beautifully prepared. The short ribs were tender and delicious.

Dessert was excellent, especially the millefeuille, which really stood out. Service was gracious as well — our waitress kindly helped us swap a cocktail we didn’t love for one that was perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was amazing, the service was impeccable with the waiters checking in at the perfect time and made sure that our drinks were filled. We got the steak sashimi and it was out of this world.
Chef Michel also came to our table to check on us and to hear if we had any comments or concerns with the food or service.

The desserts were phenomenal and my favorite was the pistachio dessert

Montpellier is a fantastic French-inspired restaurant that truly delivers on flavor and experience. Our server, Rick, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, making the meal even more enjoyable with his recommendations and attention to detail. The crispy Brussels sprouts were a burst of flavor in every bite—easily one of my favorites. The short ribs were perfectly cooked, delicious, and deeply flavorful. And to top it all off, the pistachio Paris-Brest for dessert was outstanding—it hit all the right notes and was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Highly recommend!

Our visit to MONTPELLIER was great. The ambience was very pleasant, even with the restaurant being quite busy due to a private party. Service was decent. The food was the definite highlight. The stuffed dates were a perfect 10/10—we absolutely loved them—and the Duck Tataki was also excellent. For the main course, the 24oz ribeye was beyond expectation; truly succulent. We also appreciated that the cocktails were so expertly crafted. Highly recommend and plan to return.

Last month I had the pleasure of checking out the all new Montpellier, located in Chestnut Ridge/Monsey, NY. The chef Michel Abramson is known for his unique dishes and creativity and I couldn’t wait to try some of these dishes. We started with the Steak Sashimi, Tuna Avocado Napoleon, Crispy Brussel Sprouts and the Lamb Sliders. The steak sashimi is exactly what it sound like. The same way with sushi, the thinly sliced raw fish would go over the rice. In this presentation, the sliced raw beef goes over the rice. It is then lightly blowtorched to get some color and topped with scallions, sesame seeds, and mango, all plated tableside. I really enjoyed it. My family went nuts for the Crispy Brussel Sprouts! They were practically begging for the recipe. It was a honey Dijon gastrique, shaved beef bacon, with tahini, pomegranate and topped with crispy shallots. The Napolean was amazing to behold. It was a three layered crispy pastry napoleon like the dessert. However, it was sesame soy glazed Tuna tartare, avocado cream, cucumber, radish wasabi aioli and miso caramel. It was so delicate and unique. The lamb sliders included caramelized shallots, arugula, roasted grapes, lemon rosemary aioli, house made brioche with crispy beets and a red wine reduction. It looked amazing and tasted even better. We also ordered the French Steak Salad. It was a work of art. It consisted of a grilled filet steak, mixed greens, confit tomatoes, pickled onions, mushrooms, avocado, peppers with a creamy herb dressing and crispy shallots. Not only was it healthy but it was so yummy and filling. For our mains we went with the Agneau Pistache Lamb which was presented table side with a dome, which when lifted, showed off the smoke building inside it and slowly giving it flavor. The Lamb was cooked perfectly and included pistachio with herb crusted lamb chops, and haricot vert served on top of a celery puree. It was so good and juicy. We also ordered the Shishito Peppers Provencale as well as the Chicken Ballotine Wellington and finally the Entrecote Café de Paris. Keep in mind we were six Adults. I have never seen a chicken wellington, it looked amazing and wasn’t dried out at all. It was quite juicy and had a beautiful crust on top. The Entrecote steak that I ordered was a perfectly cooked boneless ribeye and served with rich herb butter sauce and hand cut petite potatoes. It was buttery soft and melt in your mouth. I loved the presentation which features a little candle under the dish to keep it hot. Our last dish was a 10 oz. surprise steak. Now if you know your meats, surprise steak is an amazing cut and not always available on the menu. It’s soft, tender and has the right amount of salt. The kitchen surprised us by bring out their ever popular Chicken Lollypops. Wow! Crispy lollypops glazed with sweet spicy miel chaud, on top of a cauliflower puree, charred scallion oil, lemon dressed fennel salad, with a side of crunchy hazelnut herb crumble. It was delicious. We closed with two desserts, but I was so full I can’t even remember the names. Next time you find yourself in the greater Monsey area, you NEED to visit Montpellier.

If I could put six stars I would one hundered percent would. I cannot explain the amount of flavor I experienced at Montpellier the food was outstanding, trying foods I have never tried before made me experience new tastes and flavors I have never experienced on a level I cannot describe.

I can honestly say, the number 1 restaurant I have ever been too and if I had to ask for a last meal god forbid. It would be Montpellier.

10/10 will return

Montpellier is an absolute gem. From the start, the appetizers were outstanding and set the tone for the entire meal. The steak was cooked perfectly, exactly as ordered, tender and full of flavor. Dessert was the perfect finish, especially the creme brulee, which was rich, smooth, and delicious. On top of the food, the service was exceptional, attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere is awesome, classy, and inviting. Definitely a place I will be coming back to.
