**Title: A Spicy Disaster at Monterrey Mexican Restaurant**
My recent visit to Monterrey Mexican Restaurant was nothing short of a culinary nightmare. I was excited to try their lemon pepper wings, but what I received was a plate of wings so salty they were almost inedible. The only way to choke them down was to drench them in ranch dressing.
The mishaps didn’t stop there. We specifically asked for mild wings, but were instead served wings that were so insanely spicy they brought tears to my eyes. The heat was unbearable and completely ruined the meal.
The service was equally disappointing. We ordered fries, but were served rice instead. By the time the fries finally arrived, our meal was almost over. Furthermore, they brought no ketchup for the fries.
To top it all off, the first Screwdriver drink I ordered was so watered down it tasted like orange juice mixed with water. There was hardly any alcohol in it, making it a complete waste of money.
To bring attention to the last disaster, the table we were placed in was so wobbly that a drink spilled and caused a loud disturbance to bring attention to our table. Disaster!
Overall, my experience at Monterrey Mexican Restaurant was a “never going there again,” experience. From the overly salty and spicy wings to the poor service and watered-down drinks, this visit was a complete letdown. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.
The prices tallied to just below 50 dollars for two people, if you are looking for that.

One hungry Man
I go here all the time. It’s a great atmosphere. They are almost like family at this point. The sweet tea is good the food is good and the service is great. They are even helping me with my Spanish. Today I got a Quesataco. Delicious. Violeta , Lulu, Leslie and the others treat you really good. Jorge is the main manager I think but all of them are excellent. 10 stars. Big part of the community for around 35 years now I think.

My judgment of the food might not be fair because I am from the southwest and Mexican food here is made differently… That being said, the food was decent but nothing I’d crave again.
The service was excellent and I think more places could use a wait staff as great as Monterrey’s.
Seems like a very solid family friendly establishment, spacious parking lot and patio seating.

Food was good compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. The waitress was very friendly and brought the food out to us within 10 minutes of ordering.

Overall really great, we love going! My wife is obsessed with birria tacos and that’s the only complaint we have there so far. She says they’re just way too fatty compared to other restaurants.

This restaurant has always been a family favorite. My grandparents always loved their spinach dip and the hot salsa. I love the salsa and the spinach dip now, too. The service is always amazing and the portion sizes are huge.

I was able to take only one bite before pulling out whatever this is. We were debating on a tendon or some type of fibrous thing that shouldn’t be there. Took one bite and this chewy piece of nasty came out with the bite. Didn’t finish the meal at all & server couldn’t care less to ask why the food wasn’t finished at all or why no one wanted to go boxes.

Do not go to Monterrey in Cleveland.
I’m honestly shocked at how this place is allowed to stay in business. While we were eating, we saw cockroaches running across the table and even getting near our food. That alone is unacceptable for any restaurant.
When we brought it to the manager’s attention, instead of apologizing or addressing the issue professionally, we were met with attitude and an argument — as if we were the problem for pointing it out.
No one should have to deal with that, and it’s absolutely not okay to serve food in those conditions. Just a warning to anyone thinking about eating there.
