This is the best Mexican food in Ames. Other places still have their nostalgia, but if you want the best food, this is where you go. Great service, great recipes, and some really great people. Give this place a try!

We came here for two of our friends’ 21st birthday dinner during Valentine’s Day weekend and they were offering 20% off specials. Walking in, the place was very nice we were excited to try it for the first time.
We all ordered different things and every single dish was so good. Even though we came close to closing, the food was fresh and the service was excellent. Our waitress was so sweet, and when we mentioned it was our friends’ birthdays, the owner came out to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. His energy was so positive and welcoming — super smiley.
To top it off, he surprised us with margaritas with sparklers and really gave us a whole show. We tried the cotton candy margarita and the “COVID-19” margarita — and despite the name, that one was AMAZING (definitely my favorite).
The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and everything about this place was five stars. Thank you for such a memorable first experience and for making our friends’ 21st birthday so special. We will for sure be back

Definitely worth checking out if you’re craving good Mexican food. The food is fresh, flavorful, and the portions are generous. Their menu has all the classics like burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and chimichangas, and everything is packed with authentic flavor.

I wish I could give the service another star. Best service I have ever had at any restaurant ever. Their food is delicious. The buffet is amazing. I was awestruck. The server walked up and handed out quesobirrias which are quesadillas with birria meat folded like a taco. Best Mexican food I have ever had in Iowa. I am 110% going back. We’ve only been there once and I keep thinking about needing to go back.

Fantastic food (both the buffet and regular menu items are great). Buffet is an amazing value with shrimp, birria, and many other items on there. Have been a few times and have been happy with everything! Service is attentive and upbeat. This is “my” new Mexican restaurant, for sure.
