We had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely fantastic and full of flavor.
I ordered the El Molcajete, and it was a total showstopper — sizzling, flavorful, and more than enough food. The sauces were incredible. I also had a raspberry margarita on the rocks with Don Julio and a sugar rim, and it was delicious. My mother-in-law ordered the strawberry margarita and loved hers too.
The cheese dip was creamy and flavorful — definitely a must-order.
The only minor issue was that the chips tasted a little stale, but everything else was so good it didn’t take away from the experience at all.
We will absolutely be back!

It was a spur of the moment decision. There are more than one Mexican restaurants around. This was close, and perhaps my first time in a long time. Just about everything was nice, including speedy seating, food quality & quantity, and facilities. In fact I got what you expect from a non-fine-dining but capable restaurant. I wanted a spicy dish, and got the Shrimp Diablo. It was diabolically hot and tasty. I could have saved a portion for another day, but ♂️. Finished the whole plate. Forgot to take a photo. Definitely give this a try.

Went there last night and the food was so delicious. We had fajitas and Diablo shrimps. Both tasted so good. Diablo Shrimps is very spicy and I loved it. Definitely give it a try if you like spicy food. Although, we were full after eating the delicious food but we still ordered Chimi cheesecake and it was out of this world. Service is excellent. Multiple staff members checked on us from time to time. Definitely give it a try.

I bought $50 worth of food(Popeye, Supreme Burrito, A Little of Everything), but they laid $100 worth on my table. Needless to say I tipped waaaay more than I usually would. Everything was clean and friendly and PERFECT. I cannot wait to go back. Thank you for a wonderful meal and several leftovers

It was good food, nothing extraordinary. Except the salsa! It is amazing! I would go back just for it! It was packed for Cinco de Mayo and we waited 20 minutes, which I thought was pretty fast-especially since they had groups of 15 and 18 guests around the same time we arrived at 6:30 p.m.

I orderded the Chicken Quesadilla Deluxe, it came with shredded chicken and it was great. I had them add jalapenos grilled with the jalapenos and they were prefect and hot. Everyone else at the tables food turned out great and the servings were huge. Service was good and friendly.

Monte Albán is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in the tri state. Their cooks put real love into the food and give you an amazing taste of Oaxacan style cuisine. Their menu offers a variety of common Mexican dishes, however I fully recommend taking a more adventurous approach when ordering and branch away from the typical burrito/enchilada/chimichanga plates.
You won’t be disappointed by their El Alambre, Steak Monte Albán, Huevos dishes and soups.
Don’t be afraid to spice up your meal with a side of chile torreados or request their special salsas.
The staff are nothing short of amazing if you make it a point to get to know them. They always help me practice my spanish each time I come by and they truly enjoy personalizing my orders upon request.
Personally, I don’t prefer Mexican any where else in the area. It takes a trip to Tulsa or SE Texas to satisfy my taste buds to beat this joint!

Another good Mexican restaurant in Barboursville West Virginia is Monte Albans… It has a nice atmosphere and beautiful Mexican decor good service and good food… So come grab you a little bit Amigos or Amigas and enjoy.
