Celebrated a big birthday and an anniversary here- have been coming here for many years, and this visit like the others did not disappoint. Food and service were spot on as always. We indulged ourselves because we were celebrating, and ended up taking home quite a few tasty leftovers. What we ate- petite filet mignon crisps, garlic aioli pommes frites, truffled cauliflower, diver scallops, house cut carne asada tacos, rack of lamb, and for dessert, the panna cotta. The star of the show was actually the tacos- amazing!!! …And of course, we’ll be returning! Don’t let the fact that it’s in a ‘strip mall’ fool you- it’s fine dining at it’s best, right here in the ‘burbs! Oh- and cost-saving tip, order the gift cards ahead of time on their website when they offer the ‘buy $100 and get and addl $20 for free.

Surprisingly Amazing. When you think of strip malls Chipotle, Noodles Co, and Tropical Smoothie come to mind. To my surprise, when searching for nice restaurants to celebrate an anniversary, Montarra surfaced with good reviews.

This was a 5 star dining experience for a 2 star price. The dishes were amazing. The steak was one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and seared. Service was stellar, our server was Sam. Looking forward to returning. I regret we didn’t get pictures of everything, we ate way too fast.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 1st anniversary at Montarra. They didn’t do anything special for us except say Happy Anniversary when we checked in with the hostess and gave us menus that said Happy Anniversary on the inside. While glancing at the menu, we enjoyed a bread basket of truffle salt dusted wheat dinner rolls with butter. Our server Amy was patient, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.

Montarra is an elegant upscale restaurant so we’re not getting here super often. They’ve got an outstanding wine, whiskey and cocktail list too. We started with their Petite Filet Mignon Crisps, an excellent appetizer. Dinner was Duet of Beef Tenderloin Tips & Bacon Wrapped Jumbo Scallops and the Caramelized Jumbo Maine Sea Scallops. All of the food was cooked perfectly, well-presented and tasted great. The table service here was above average. Reservations recommended and you’ll need about $250 for two.

This was a birthday dinner. Reserved online reservations, didn’t give us any option to pick our seats yet when we got there, we were the first ones to sit and eat. We asked if we can get a booth instead of a window seat where it was colder, they said those are already reserved. Come to find out our entire time we spent there, which was over an hour, and there were two booths open with nobody sitting there the entire visit.

Not a relaxed, quiet setting for our anniversary. Just too loud on a Saturday with a 5:30pm reservation for us. Tables so close together it was hard to navigate to the restroom. Our server was very nice but she had six tables so was not able to check on us often. Food was good, not outstanding. For our anniversary we would have been better off at Seasons 52 or Ruth’s Chris.

My wife and I went for a date night without the kids. I’m never disappointed. The food was outstanding. I always have to order their French onion soup, because it’s unique in its onion bowl and of course tastes fantastic. The server was fast and attentive.
