A group of us went there on a early week night. We had to wait in the bar area, where there were at least 5 tables empty that could have been put together for us but we weren’t seated there. Apparently the waiters didn’t want to use that area. So we waited for at least 30 minutes until there was a long table in the dining room. Good thing the bartender was great! The waiters were excellent in the dining room, too. I got the Charleston Seafood Pasta, which was very tasty but very oily from too much butter.

All the food items we ordered, from the soup to the chicken to the sides like the risotto and twice baked potato – everything came out COLD. Only the bread was warm and fresh. The salad was dry and didn’t have enough dressing. The flavor was also lacking in all the dishes. Our server was nice, but unfortunately had too many tables to take care of. The internal aesthetic looks like it hasn’t been upgraded for at least 30 years, from the incredibly dated furniture to the carpet and stained, dented walls. Additionally, the live music makes it way too loud in there, to the point you have to constantly repeat yourself when conversing with others. I definitely do not recommend dinner at Montague’s.

Our server was really nice and friendly. The food was solid. Steaks were a bit over our desired temps. My main complaint was the $7 “premium” asparagus side. That side consisted of four whole pieces of asparagus. That is an outrage.

Filet mignon was not worth the money. I ordered medium and when it arrived to the table it was well done. No pink at all in it. I ordered shoestring fries as a side ( I know an unsophisticated move) but I thought they would have a twist on them to make them worth the price. I was sadly disappointed. They were what seemed to be McDonald’s quality without the salt. Overall when I saw the prices on the menu I expected something special. This was mediocre at best. The drop ceiling in the dimly lit rear room was stained terribly and that kind of hurt the atmosphere. I was also taken back a little by the fact that they automatically charge gratuity to a party of five . We split the bill and they charged automatic gratuity to both bills. I typically tip well and our server did not lack. She was honest with us and did her job well. I was merely disappointed by the cheap atmosphere and the food not being wells seasoned. I wish the best for this restaurant but it simply wasn’t for me. Kimberly was our server and none of my negative reviews reflect her or how she composed herself through this experience.

The restaurant has a bar on the outer side and several separate dining spaces inside. Looks as if they transformed a house into a restaurant. The food is simply great. Their seafood tops their menu and is just awesome. The prices are pretty reasonable. The staff is very friendly. It feels like family in this place. As for appetizers, do give their spinach artichoke a try. It is simply delicious. And their fresh bread with olive oil is also tempting. Unfortunately, they do not have gluten-free bread

It was a good experience. No TV in dinning area was great so focus of attention was great. The food was unbelievable my companion was truly impressed with this jewel of Greenwood. I love to impress local girls with hidden treasures especially of the food kind.

Food and service was great! Jason, our server, is a funny guy. We highly recommend this restaurant/bar. We ordered the captain’s seafood platter, a shrimp pasta dish, the brownie a la mode (warm brownie topped with ice cream, yum), beer, and a cosmo. Bartender is on point because the cosmo was strong. It looks like they upgraded their wall artwork. Gives it a more modern vibe! We enjoyed our dinner here. Thank you for an awesome night!

Montagues is an iconic restaurant in Greenwood, but it really needs a face-lift. For the upscale menu, and the price, the inside, especially main dining area, reads the opposite of upscale… dingy carpeting and a badly stained ceiling. With replacing flooring and dealing with the molding ceiling tiles, it woukd be improved 200%. The server was terrific- she was friendly, helpful, and attentive! The Thai chicken bites were delicious, and my husband enjoyed his seafood pasta. My meal was bland at best – chopped steak and twice baked potato. Needed seasoning in the biggest way, and was overcooked.
Overall, a disappointment, especially because of the environment. A little bit of upgrading woukd do wonders!

Went here last night for my wedding anniversary. I’ve only lived in Greenwood a few years and had yet to eat at Montagues. Our food was good not great. The rolls weren’t homemade and were hard. My wife got the seafood Charleston which was good, I had the chicken Willa. I think it’s overpriced for the quality and decor. There’s not a great food scene in Greenwood so I guess that’s how they manage to charge what they do.
