Decorated to the hilt! Could not miss it was Valentine’s Day! Set menu held a varied selection of dishes for every palate. The sea bass was very carefully cooked- light and fragrant. The monkfish and seafood curry and the lamb rogan Josh satisfied well and the traditional mango kulfi dessert was a fresh finish. Lovely evening.

I visited Monsoona Healthy Indian Cuisine today and it was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Aberdeen. We ordered the Chicken Tikka and the Lamb Chops, and both were a massive letdown.
• The Food: The Chicken Tikka was incredibly bland and had zero flavor on the inside—totally unmarinated. However, the Lamb Chops were the real disaster. They were served completely raw and were so tough they were impossible to eat. To make matters worse, they had a foul smell—stinking like hell—which suggests the meat wasn’t fresh.
• The Service: When we pointed out to the waitress that the lamb was raw and inedible, there was no apology or offer to cook a fresh portion. She just casually mentioned she would “remove the service charge” as if that makes up for serving dangerous, raw meat.
• The Value: Even after removing the service charge, I still ended up paying £26.48 for food that went straight into the bin.
The overall experience was rubbish. If you value your health and your money, stay far away from this place. There are plenty of authentic Indian restaurants in Aberdeen—this is not one of them.

Can recommend Monsoona, clean, good service, good presentation and equally good taste. If in Aberdeen again, I would come back without hesitation. It was the reviews that brought me in to try the food and glad I did. Good atmosphere with the music too.

Thank you for a lovely meal

Lovely little place on Bridge Street, Aberdeen, just off the main shopping area on Union Street.

We visited on a Sunday night so probably have got a proper feel for the potential atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night, but the background music was appropriate and the restaurant was warm and cosy.

The food is superb, everything cooked fresh, light, tasty – highly recommended! The naan’s in particular are large but not stodgy, wonderful!

Monsoona, such a fantastic find, located just off Union Street, close by the station. The service was 1st class, friendly and attentive, a wide variety of drinks were available for all tastes and the quality of the food was fantastic. A variety of choices from chef specials and Indian staples were offered. I will be back! Banging Groceries as my good friend says! Well done gentleman!

Out of the fever dream that was the Book of Mormon at HMT we were thrust into the fire of Aberdeen past 10 pm on a Thursday. A Rare sight? The locals stumbling past Drummonds were not. Belmont Chipper, the famed Belmont St Kebabs? The usual offering of late night eateries was not cutting the mustard.

“food” – the google maps search of the desperate. Five Guys? Chopstix? Monsoona? What could this possibly be?

A short walk away and we entered what could only be described as an oasis to the inhospitable desert of Union Street. A Desi paradise of popadoms and paneer.

We had a tasty veggie selection, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the music had us screwing in notional lightbulbs, 10/10.
