I visited Monorom Cambodian Restaurant while exploring Long Beach and it turned out to be a great place to experience traditional Cambodian flavors. Cambodian cuisine is not as widely known as some other Southeast Asian cuisines, so it is always interesting to find restaurants that specialize in it.
The menu features a variety of classic Cambodian dishes built around rice, grilled meats, soups, and flavorful sauces. One of the highlights of the meal was the grilled meat plates, which are well seasoned and served with rice and fresh vegetables. The balance between savory meats and lighter sides works really well.
Another thing that stood out to me was the way Cambodian cooking balances flavors. Many dishes combine savory, slightly sweet, tangy, and herbal notes, which creates a very distinct flavor profile compared to other cuisines in the region.
The restaurant itself has a casual and welcoming atmosphere. It feels like a neighborhood spot where people come for traditional food rather than a formal dining experience.
Service during my visit was friendly and efficient, and the staff were helpful when explaining some of the dishes.
Overall, Monorom Cambodian Restaurant offers a flavorful introduction to Cambodian cuisine in Long Beach. If you enjoy exploring different Southeast Asian foods and want to try something beyond the more common options, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting.

Let’s me start by saying WOW! I mean this was my first time ever trying Cambodian food and I am blown away!! We ordered the roasted duck, beef skewers, mango salad, fried fish and everything had so much flavor and was absolutely made with love. Also the owner was so friendly and caring and made us feel like we were at his home for dinner. Thank you again and I will be bringing all of my friends here

I can’t wait to come back and try more of their other dishes. You already know its going to be good authentic food when it’s a mom and pop shop, located in a sketchy shopping center and Cambodian music videos playing in the background. Disclaimer: you may have to wait for someone to take your order if you’re dining in. Just be patient because they only have one staff answering calls, taking order and serving dine-in guest. Just know the food is delicious and food comes out piping hot. We got the Papaya Salad, Fried Fish w/ Mango Sauce, and Combo Pin Noodles. The food was so good I only got a picture of the Papaya Salad and ate everything else before we realized I haven’t taken a photo. Sauces were all very flavorful, fish was perfectly crisp, and food was all on point. Definitely recommend trying this place when your in the local area!

Stopped in for quick bite. Asked our server for recommendations and he suggested the beef skewers. We were blown away at how juicy and flavorful they were! The fried chicken and sweet and sour fish were also delicious, and prices are very reasonable! Put this spot on my list to come back the next time I’m in town!

We drove all the way from Laguna Hills to Little Cambodia in Long Beach which took about an hour to try this restaurant. It didn’t disappoint! The food was delicious and such an explosion on your tastebuds! For me personally, Cambodian food is like Thai food on steroid. I highly recommend the lemongrass soup and the beef steak on skewers.

First time trying Cambodian food, and I liked everything but the sdao (which is famously bitter). Server was very kind and attentive even though it was busy during the lunch hour. Highly recommend the fish amok and the prahok creme.

Dated restaurant in need of a facelift. Ordered Kreoung soup, spring rolls, and nom banh jok. Spring rolls was terrible, mostly veggies. The other two dishes were average at best.

Delicious and authentic Cambodian food! Have come here for years and now have a family member cooking there as well. I recommend the beef skewers, they make some of the best ones out of all the Cambodian restaurants.
