OMG the best and most creamy vegan ice cream. My experience with vegan ice cream had been subpar, watery sugar filled & a waste of calories. Thanks to MONKEYWRENCH, I found joy in eating the most delicious vegan ice cream. Mocha Mud Pie, Chocolate Fudge Brownie & Dead to Me were scrumptious. Tate was kind, attentive and went the extra mile. Highly recommend MONKEYWRENCH.

Ice cream is my favorite treat, BUT I am lactose intolerant!! 🙁 So when I randomly came across Monkeywrench, I was so excited. All the flavors on the menu sounded so amazing that I immediately got decision paralysis lol! I’m not used to having so many choices for dairy free! The cashier was super sweet and patiently took the time with me to help me narrow down which flavors I wanted to pick. The three I ended up choosing were the lavender honey one (INCREDIBLE and full of flavor), the strawberry shortcake one (so sweet but not too sweet!), and the banana stand one (so much dimension!). I’m so happy with my choices! The ice cream went even above my expectations!! It was so creamy and rich, you would never guess it wasn’t real cream. My only grievance with this place is that they are in SLC and I live in Orem – but that’s probably a good thing for my wallet after all, lol. I will 1000% be visiting Monkeywrench every time I’m in SLC!!!

Some of the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever had! So tasty! I had the mint chip and Oreo but they have some really unique cool flavors. If I am ever in town again I will be back for sure.

So happy to see more options created for vegan ice cream. All said, I prefer traditional ice cream, but when it makes you legitimately sick afterwards, you gotta find other options. These were the most creative flavors I’ve been able to have in years, very refreshing. I don’t know what the base is, but I didn’t pick up any coconut or the standard undertones in flavor.

The two I got (lavender honeycomb and a peach one) were very rich and flavorful.

We ordered for the 1st time for Thanksgiving. We ordered the pumpkin ice cream pie, with gluten free crust. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, this pie was absolutely amazing!! The flavor was perfect, I have only been gluten free for a few months, but always had an issue with dairy. This was a perfect treat and I didn’t feel left out on Thanksgiving!! Highly recommend!

Monkey Wrench is a vibrant spot in Salt Lake City, known for its inventive plant-based ice creams that cater to both vegans and those with dairy sensitivities. The shop offers a wide range of flavors, from classics like chocolate and vanilla to unique options such as lavender honeycomb and matcha. The texture is impressively creamy, considering it’s all vegan, and the flavors are rich and satisfying. The staff is friendly and eager to let you sample as many flavors as you’d like. The atmosphere is fun and casual, making it a great stop for a dessert outing. Whether you’re vegan or just in the mood for something new, Monkey Wrench is worth a visit for its creative and delicious ice cream offerings.

Staff were friendly and helpful, we got two scoops each – the piña colada one just tasted of straight salt, the banana brownie one just tasted liked mashed bananas, no brownie at all. The s’mores one was okay, if you don’t mind chunks of soggy marshmallow and cookie in it. The stand out is the Mocha Fudge Brownie, 10/10 for this flavour! The coffee “ice cream” with the chocolate fudge brownie bits was to die for!

I saw this vegan ice cream place and it caught my attention, as I wanted to know how creamy it would be. The flavors were pretty interesting. We tried the Lemon Bar and Lavender, and we were so impressed with how creamy they were for being vegan. But it got to a point where it was overly sweet.

Service impeccable ice cream even better. As someone who can’t have dairy in a family of ice cream lovers this is our go to place because my dairy lovers love this place too. It is so nice to have a place we can enjoy dessert together!

Delicious non dairy options that doesn’t taste over coconutty. Staff is friendly and patient and will make great recommendations. It’s nice that the shop is opened late.
Parking options are almost non existent.
You also can’t sample flavors which makes flavor selection difficult.
