We went in the middle of the afternoon on a rainy Tuesday, so the atmosphere was a lil drab. However, I’m sure it’s FANTASTIC on the weekend and when the weather is better. Food and drinks were pretty good. Our waitress was very helpful with helping our food and drink selections. I would come back on the weekends, in better weather, to see the difference in the atmosphere.

Nice establishment but could use a little bit of improvement. The food was good, specially the chilaquiles. A good blend of everything and goes so good with chicken. My mom loves the lemon ricotta pancakes , she loves that it comes with a lot so she’s able to have leftovers. I think the improvement is just needed in the service, we’ve gone multiple times and it seems like the servers are almost overwhelmed / overworked? They provide good service when they can but can’t check up as much. We’re usually left with empty cups since no one comes by for a refill. Other than that lovely establishment.

Monica’s Riverview in Antioch is a great spot for breakfast. The river view makes the whole place feel calm and open, and the patio and indoor areas both have a warm, welcoming vibe. I ordered the Churro Waffle and it was delicious, light, and full of flavor.
We also brought our Pomeranian with us, and the server was incredibly kind. She brought out a dog bowl without us even asking, which was a thoughtful touch. The service overall was friendly, attentive, and efficient.
The combination of good food, great ambiance, and genuinely warm service made it a really enjoyable visit. I would definitely go back.

My first time visiting Monica’s Riverview. The location was beautiful. They seemed to be extremely busy. We went on a Sunday. There were a few hiccups with the food they prepared, however Jorge made it right. He provided excellent service and took accountability for the human errors. The drinks were great. We ordered bottomless mimosas and the champagne was strong and the juice was fresh. I have not counted them out. I’ll try them again.

Arrival & Environment:
Parking was relatively convenient, just a block away. However, the walk to the restaurant was uncomfortable—passing a few homeless encampments and groups gathered in the park with off-leash pitbulls. It’s not the most welcoming entrance.
The view from the restaurant is beautiful, even with the row of parked cars partially obstructing it. Still, there’s potential here for a relaxing riverside experience—but the energy wasn’t that. What I thought would be a peaceful brunch had more of a day-party vibe. Loud music, people dancing—it’s great if that’s what you’re looking for, but it wasn’t the experience I wanted.
Service:
Very slow and disorganized. I waited over 10 minutes before anyone offered water or even acknowledged me. The couple at the table ahead of me were visibly irritated—one guest got up to grab their own silverware. No clear system, no flow.
When a server did arrive, she didn’t introduce herself and seemed confused when I asked for bottled water. After a bit of back and forth, I settled for sparkling. Still, it took nearly 40 minutes to get my food.
Food:
Honestly, the food was a letdown.
Crab Benedict: Cold imitation crab, soft potatoes, lukewarm waffle, and a random plantain tossed on the plate. The only warm item was the egg.
Lemon Ricotta Pancake: Good flavor but cold, which made it less enjoyable.
It all felt like it had been sitting in the back, forgotten. I ended up asking for my check without finishing my meal. $42 for a plate I couldn’t eat feels unreasonable.
Final Notes:
The staff was friendly but clearly overwhelmed and not very attentive. I ordered a latte to-go and—just like the food—it was cold. I had to ask for my server multiple times and never saw her again.
Bottom Line:
If you’re coming for the music and the party atmosphere, this might be your spot. But if you’re looking for quality food and attentive service in a relaxing brunch setting, I’d look elsewhere.

This is only my third time coming here, but it will certainly be my last. The food was definitely mediocre. I got a simple breakfast with pancakes, eggs, and country potatoes. More like one potato, diced up and unseasoned. The pancakes were not fluffy and flat and the egg was overcooked. I was with four others celebrating my daughters birthday and I needed to step out a little early, so I left my credit card with my daughter upon arriving home and looking at the receipt I noticed I was charged for a large party tip even though it was only five of us and a large party consists of six. I called the establishment and was told that the waiter agreed it was his mistake and that I should receive a refund for the added gratuity in 2 to 3 days. And if I don’t, then I can come down there and they will get it taken care of. This is not good business if you made a mistake the same way you took my money to pay for it. You should be able to refund me immediately After reading more reviews. I see that the same server has also done this with another party so now it’s seems more like a way to get a large tip without people knowing. I certainly won’t be back. Receipt is attached and you can see five meals were ordered for the five people that were there yet. It shows party of six. I’ll update once I Receive my refund. Update I received my refund of the 20% gratuity that was taken

I went there on Valentines Day for the first time. So I had the shrimp omlet. Well the egg was cooked flttaened and the ingredients was just inserted on the inside of the folded egg Shell. No I want the ingredients to be cooked inside of the omlet.
