This place has the best Mongolian Cuisine I have ever had. It is difficult to find places for Mongolian Cuisine in Chicago, but this place is phenomenal. The food is made with simple yet delectable ingredients that are very healthy and delicious, not overloaded on salt or spicing, and freshly prepared in store (I was able to see into the kitchen a bit, they like to use fresh vegetables!). The food tasted delicious and fresh, and the dumplings did not taste overloaded with any kind of oils. As a person who tries to eat health consciously, I found it particularly great. The environment is very clean.

The portioning was generous, and they seem to have a lot of great deals for Christmas! This is affordable quality food, and considering the climate of Mongolia, I can see why this cuisine is so cherished for cold climates. I highly recommend going here, especially since it’s winter, as after some research I found that this food is literally designed culturally to make you strong and healthy to endure the cold climates!

The atmosphere is beautiful and authentic. Everything from the Mongolian music on television, to the beautiful adornments of the restaurant with cultural artifacts and decorations gave the entire restaurant a homely atmosphere. The staff is courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant if you wish to make your first incursion into Mongolian Cuisine.

One and only Authentic Mongolian food in North America!!!! I was not expecting this when my friend took me there to have Huushuur. It is basically look like Indian Pattie but has juicy minced meat inside with traditional seasoning.

When I go to Mongolian food places usually they are Chinese version of Mongolian foods. So I was not expecting to see any Authentic Real Mongolian food.

After long day at near by shopping outlet, we stopped at this place. Eventhoug the wait was long, since they make everythign fresh, the Huushuur come out soooo good. I can make it at home but it never usually quite come out the way they do it here.

The girls who work there was very nice. No fake smile nor passivily rushing me out for no reason. Just very very nice.

I would visit Chicago just for this. No longer have to go to Ulaanbaatar.

Decided to check this place out because it was close by and we’ve had Mongolian BBQ before so we thought why not. This place is nothing like that, though. Very good and different food. Wasn’t busy at all but that’s probably because of the Sushi place by it. Only one person working there but she was nice. Give this place a shot if you want something different.

Really amazing food! A bit off the beaten path, and the atmosphere is a fairly plain mom and pop deal, but the food is worth searching for. We had the fried dumplings, Mongolian shepard’s pie, and beef and noodle soup. Not spicy like you would expect from Chinese carryout style dishes, though still very well seasoned and delicious. Coming back here every time I’m in town for sure.

A very different dining experience than you’ll get in many restaurants. Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry: Everything is made fresh in this family owned-and-operated restaurant. Your patience will be rewarded with delicious food that is piping hot when you get it and delicious.

Vegetarians beware: There are no vegetarian friendly options here.

This is not a hot pot restaurant. Let me start with that. This restaurant is an entirely different style of food…simple beef and noodle dishes with sturdy vegetables like carrots and potatoes. This is more typical of the nomadic traditional Mongolian lifestyle, food that travels, walks, or carries with your family. That being said, this food is the most delicious and subtly flavorful and delicately seasoned of the variety I have had. Each dish is made to order, no shortcuts, so relax and enjoy a conversation. The beef is prepared in several different ways, each tender and delicious. This is my 4th visit, and I am a foodie. Try it all, ask for suggestions, and be ready for a unique and delicious experience. I will be back.

I have trouble believing these reviews. If I could give this place zero stars I would,. I have eaten at a few other Mongolian restaurants around the city and always liked the food. We ordered their Mongolian beef stew as main course, and steamed dumplings for a starter.

The waitstaff took over 35 mins to get any food to the table, despite a relatively empty restaurant. When the food came they brought out the main course first. The Mongolian Beef stew looked nothing like the pictures on the menu and was basically just 1 inch cubes of cheap stew meat with no seasoning and a tiny bit of onion. The dish didn;’t resemble the pictures in the menu,, and when we spoke with the server she was apathetic. The meet was so overcooked that it was basically inedible. The dumplings were also inedible in that they had way too much dough, and the dough wasn’t fully cooked. They were so greasy that they too were inedible.

So $35 for lunch for two that we couldn’t even eat, Water never refilled, despite asking twice. My advice is to Avoid this place.. .

Great authentic Mongolian cuisine (roll credits!). I’m an expert since I’m Mongolian and I eat the food all the time – probably some bias in there as well… Definitely great food – I would recommend the “Huitsai” and “Huushuur” for anyone that goes there.
