Since 1933 the Bernardi family has been serving Italian & American cuisine. Famous for Mona’s northern Italian Tortellini and spaghetti people travel from all over the state for great food, and friendly service. Mike Bernardi’s son and daughter have joined the family business, Tony in 1988 and Stephanie in 1996, bringing it to the third generation. After working the family business, they had thought it was time to expand out their great service and quality foods. Bernardi’s opened in Washington, IL in 2001, Bernardi’s II in Pontiac, IL in 2005, and the latest location is Bernardi’s North, opened in 2008 at Lake of the Woods Plaza in Dunlap, IL. We are sure your dining experience at any of our locations will bring you back.

Great overall experience! We went during a busy time and the service was still excellent. The food was great, no complaints. The food was flavorful and was seasoned to our liking. Only wish was that I wasn’t so stuffed so I could try their cheesecake. I will definitely be back here.

My recent,first experience at Monas was excellent! The food was delicious and the best fried chicken bar none. Not only was the food delicious and plentiful, they were ready for our group of 60+ following a funeral. Their staff promptly fulfilled every need. Personally, their two servers for the 60 customers were the best I’ve ever encountered. Most helpful and efficient. Thank you Mona’s for the incredible experience.

Trifecta! Thank you Mona’s! On one of the hardest days in an individual’s life- we had just laid an Amazing, Beautiful and Precious 20-yr old, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, granddaughter and friend to rest… the warmth of the staff was unparalleled! The atmosphere was inviting and the food, albeit for a temporary moment, comforted us in our grief!

Always great food, great service, nice atmosphere. I would recommend the fried chicken, chicken breast supreme sandwich with fries, or the spaghetti covered in a savory red meat sauce. I do appreciate the red sauce at Mona’s is not sweet like nearly every single Italian restaurant. The red meat sauce makes this place stand out among the rest. Fresh baked Italian bread with butter is complimentary for the table and this can be combined with olive oil and grated parmesan cheese for a nice snack while you’re waiting for your meal. A+

Wow!! Amazing! Who would think that a top notch Italian restaurant like Mona’s would be found in such a small town in north/central Illinois?? We drove all the way from Springfield, IL to meet some family here for dinner. Everything was amazing. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Definitely worth the drive!

Very classy, nice for families or date night. The atmosphere is relaxed, having different rooms creates a cozy environment. The food is top quality, real Italian taste, and vegetables are fresh and delicious. The famous pretzel appetizer must be tried, you will be taking some home. If you leave hungry you didn’t finish your meal. We always celebrate special occasions at Mona’s, we do call and reserve a table for more than four of us, usually a day in advance is fine.

I use to eat here all the time with my grandparents. We had their 40th wedding anniversary surprise here over 20 years ago as well. I live up north now. While visiting my Grandma, my dad and I decided to take a trip to Mona’s. As soon as we entered, we were greeted (wish I would of caught his name, but can only assume he was a manager. He was wearing a gray button up and black slacks). We were seated immediately. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly as well. Highly recommend. Always a treat!
