Stopped at their food truck for pork loaded fries and some baked beans, or should I say warmed up pork and beans. As they both were mediocre. You could taste the smoke in the pork and the BBQ sauce wasn’t terrible, but the meat itself had no flavor or seasoning. Sorry Mona, we won’t be returning.

Wonderful food. They have a sampler platter of their tuna, egg, fruit and veggie salad that I highly suggest trying. The two I had were fantastic. It was also our first time visiting so we got Mona’s famous peanut butter fudge. So good!

I feel very bad for the daughter while the mother who I assume runs the place was looking at me like I was scummy for even entering the premise she had the daughter running around doing everything. I went there to get cheesecake for my wife’s birthday and for three slices it was $27 and she was looking at me like I offended her for even entering the building.

The ladies make wonderful cakes. They also take orders on a pretty short notice, as I had to order 3 cakes to be ready in 2 hours, and they were up to the job. The peanut butter pastries are very nice too.

We got a special which was spaghetti, a grilled cheese a ham and cheese and a chicken strip dinner and two side salads for over 60.00. You would think with that type of pricing the restrooms would at least be clean. I was actually shocked that the food was the price it was, lesson learned though. I like the type of food they serve there but I could have made everything at home

When I am traveling and looking for a place to eat I google vegan restaurants near me. Mona’s Creative Catering and Fine Foods Restaurant came up. It is not a vegan restaurant. The fruit salad and vegetable salad with modifications are vegan however. The chef did prepare me a dish of sauteed vegetables which were fine enough but as someone that enjoys leaving the table no longer hungry I will choose to eat elsewhere.

I’m sure if I was a local I would probably appreciate this restaurant more given their history. A couple of people came in to pick up to-go orders while we were there and chatted family and community stuff with the owner. However, as travelers passing through (we always try to support smaller local spots if it’s not too far out of the way), I got the distinct impression that our waitress felt obligated to be there and the service we received was completely devoid of joy. We ordered two sandwiches and a pasta salad and were the only ones in the restaurant, yet the food took over 15 minutes to come out. It was also overpriced considering my veggie sandwich had the most basic white bread, a slice of cheese, a couple of pepper slices, 2 pieces of broccoli, and little else. We weren’t given a tab and had to recite what we’d ordered to the woman at the cash register, who was immediately confused by what I was telling her. A weird and uncomfortable experience.

One of Pikeville’s best! I absolutely adore this place. The trio (tuna salad, pasta salad and egg salad) is my favorite. I could eat this stuff everyday. The fudge is TO DIE FOR. The BBQ beats all others in town. You want to go here for lunch and dinner. Homemade specials and desserts. You can’t beat it!

We were so excited to find home style healthy food in this small community. We liked it so much we ate there twice.
