We came to Monarch Mexican Restaurant for dinner and had a wonderful experience. As vegetarians, we really appreciated that they have a separate veggie section on the menu. We ordered the veggie quesadilla and veggie fajitas—both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor.
We also tried their happy hour special mojitos, which were phenomenal, and ended our meal with flan for dessert—it was so good!
We were warmly welcomed, and our server was lovely and provided excellent service throughout the evening. We highly recommend this place

The food is fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor—clearly made with care and zero shortcuts. But let’s talk about their skinny margarita, because it deserves its own spotlight. It’s absolutely incredible: crisp, perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and dangerously good. Hands down the best margaritas in Ormond Beach… and honestly, beyond.

You know it’s a great restaurant when the chips are salsa are brought out immediately and they’re fire Food was amazing! Rice and beans seasoned well. Birria and shrimp tacos were great. Food came out super fast. Drinks were AMAZING! This place is super underrated.

On Tuesdays, all tacos are just $2.75 — including carne asada and what might be the best carnitas you’ll ever taste. Equally important: the chips and salsa are complimentary, delicious, and pack just the right amount of heat.
The only downside is that parking can be a challenge during peak hours, but trust me — it’s worth the effort.
If this place isn’t packed, it’s only because people haven’t discovered it yet. Let’s support our local businesses, especially the ones that truly stand out.

Amazing atmosphere! Very clean! Attentive servers! Quick service! The food is to die for! The best drinks and food in town, especially the Birria tacos! Trust me, I’m a taco connoisseur! Kimberly is the best waitress! They’re all very friendly and work together as a team. Manuel is the owner and he should be very proud of himself and his staff. Compliments to the chef(s), the cilantro rice is divine. You’ll leave with a smile and full stomach!

Let’s start with the complimentary chips and salsa, shall we? Loved them! Some Mexican restaurants no longer offer these and we avoid those restaurants at all costs. We had one in Altamonte Springs that offered “complimentary” chips and salsa with the purchased an appetizer! What?!?!? Yes! Here you get 2 free baskets and then pay $3.50 for additional baskets which we think is brilliant! 1 or 2 baskets is more than enough for us especially considering how quickly most entrees come out of Mexican kitchens. The tacos were great and they allowed us to mix and match different shells and chicken/meat. Full bar with some good brews and the churros we had for dessert were delicious. Service was spot on friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. We’ll be back!

For being 10pm on Valentines day where most other places had ridiculous wait times, this place didn’t. There were maybe only 3 other tables seated when we got there. Our waitress was very attentive and keen on answering any questions we had and the food was delicious AND reasonably priced. I ordered their Monarca burrito and it was HUGE! They also had cute artwork throughout the restaurant.

I do take out here. Their Beef Fajita dinner is delicious, and my go to food here. My husband and I share because they give you generous portions. You may need extra flour shell if sharing, but we do fine with three. The chips are fresh and salsa is yummy. Oh, they have seating on a patio as well.

Me and my girlfriend traveled to Daytona beach and on our way back home we decided to stop & try Monarca. Their margaritas are amazing! Atmosphere was very chill. We started off with the crab dip which we did not like at all, it did not taste like crab and was very very fishy. It was weird. But our kind waiter was able to switch out the appetizer for the ceviche which made up for it! It was delicious and we definitely enjoyed that way better! It was good, but I’ve had better Mexican cuisine. Still worth stopping and trying for yourself!

We had such a great experience at this new Mexican restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—exactly what we were hoping for.
What truly stood out, though, was the incredible service. Our waiter, Victor, was amazing. He was quick to pick up on our preferences, made thoughtful suggestions, and seemed to know exactly what we wanted before we even asked. It’s rare to come across such attentive and intuitive service, especially at a new establishment.
Highly recommend checking this place out—you’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. Ask for Victor if you can!
