One person got rigatoni alla vodka ($14.95) and the rest of us each got eggplant parmigiana ($14.95). All come with salad, garden or Caesar, or Greek or wedge salad for an up-charge. One person got the wedge salad, which was too drenched blue cheese dressing for my taste. The rest of us got the garden salad, which was fine. The rigatoni alla vodka was delicious—the sauce was creamy and flavorful. The eggplant is always good. It’s very cheesy and some of the pieces are perfectly crispy, which is how I like it. I get it with broccoli on the side instead of pasta, just to try to make it a little more healthy.
Two of us checked in on Yelp, so we got 2 free cannolis (normally $5.95 each)! You can also post on social media with the hashtag #monalisaitalianjohnscreek to get a free cannoli. The cannolis were good, but the filling was different than other cannolis I’ve had. It had an interesting flavor, like cinnamon or nutmeg or something. I wouldn’t have ordered it if it wasn’t free.
Definitely recommend this little local joint! Good service, good, reasonably priced food, and usually not too crowded.
Once inside, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The lady who first greeted us seemed a little distracted but the server was very prompt and friendly.
We ordered two kinds of pasta and loved both. Will be back for more.
The garlic rolls I ordered were lukewarm but I could almost taste the garlic. The garden salad was fine but the balsamic dressing was congealed. The veal parmesan I ordered was a modest portion. The fettuccine is boiled dry pasta, and I really do expect a non-chain Italian restaurant to make fresh pasta.
The table was also kinda sticky.
I did see a lot of older clients and families, and this is more of a family restaurant than a fine dining situation. If Olive Garden is too far from you, this is a good alternative at the same quality for about the same price.
We ordered the calamari and Greek salad to start. The Greek salad was big enough to split between two people as an appetizer. Both were very good.
He ordered the linguini clams, and I did a build your own pasta. Both were amazing!! They have a nice wine selection too.
The atmosphere was very nice with low lighting making for a romantic setting, but it isn’t super fancy fine dining. A casual outfit is fine.
What I like the most was our impeccable service. Jay greeted us as we came in, and he was our waiter as well. He was so friendly and added to our dining experience! We will definitely go back!
They had mushroom ravioli as a special. My firends are vegetarian and I am adventurous so we all tried the ravioli.
We were totally blown away. It was phenomenal. The sauce was outstanding.
We asked the owner how often they have it as a special and he said they can make it anytime upon request.
We were there on a Saturday night and they had a guitar player who was very good.
Highly recommend.
