Mon Ami is quaint and ducky so it hurts. The couple running it are the most welcoming and charming hosts. The menu mixes duck, duck, duck and some French and Scandinavian influences in a lovely classical preparation. The duck dish count running for 22 years stands at 45,379 on our visit; we add a couple. There is a wine wall instead of a wine list and a lovely tiny garden for al fresco dining. All in all, Mon Ami is irresistibly cosy and romantic, such a good vibe.

Very nice good. A good variety of duck dishes, true to the French. I tried one that seemed honey glazed that was very tender, juicy. The entrees were nice had scallops and salmon, not overly fancy like a stoke house but it had an honest homely feel about it. The beef was a little tough but the sauce was good enough to cover it up – took a star off on food for this. Very nice atmosphere felt like I entered the 2025 Tudor house Lego set

We had a delightful date night dinner here this week. I am not usually a fan of eating duck because I find it annoying to cut around the bone. I had a boneless breasted fillet though and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were four different duck dishes on the menu and we would definitely go back to try the others. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. The owner worked on the floor and was warm and hospitable. We will definitely endeavour to return in 2026.

Cute as a button tiny French bistro on the city edge in Carlton. Close tables and felt like being in Paris. Delicious classic French with a few twists in the mix as a salute to owner Finnish heritage. We had a birthday celebration and ended up surrounded by birthdays and anniversaries at the various tables .. much mirth in multiple renditions of happy birthday and happy chats between a few of our tables! The omelette, melty Brie, Scallops, duck risotto, confit duck cheese and brûlée and d’affinois for dessert! Yum.. 2 person restaurant chef and server! Good service old fashioned and lovely .. very enjoyable.. will return !

Very cute little restaurant. Started with a drink out in the sun, before moving in to a lovely dinner & drinks. You can order wine by the glass, or there’s a wall with bottles you can pick out. Lovely little spot, cute decor, amazing food. Well worth the visit, we will definitely be returning.

The place’s lovely but the hospitality is even better. I like that they served actual foie gras slices. The taste and texture were excellent. Love the duck with orange sauce, and I also like the truffled jus duck. If it had crispy skin, that’d be perfect for me, but it’s still very tasty. They know how to balance the sauces well. Their apple pie was excellent too, crispy pastry with soft apple and the sweet and tanginess are the right amount. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the cloudberry ice cream, but marmalade ice cream was a good replacement.

This is a really sweet intimate restaurant that seats about 15 people with a husband and wife team who were both inviting and friendly. The twice cooked souffle was delicious as was the tartare. The duck leg with cherries was and absolute standout and can not be recommended enough, amazing! Our other main the duck breast however, the fat wasn’t rendered which was disappointing. The Brulee was a winner too and the small selection of cheese with the confit grapes fantastic. I love that a restaurant like this still exists. We will be going back.
