Ok so Saturday they were only open from 6-10. If you’re not familiar with a non-typical Caribbean restaurant, you’d be off-put by this place. It’s not your typical restaurant they have like 2 or 3 tables but there’s old men (probably family) sitting there talking in Creole. There’s no menu anywhere, so if you’re not familiar with the food already you won’t know. The food isn’t labeled and they in the tin pans. However, the food is amazing. The piklis is so good/spicy. The griot and black rice were so flavorful. I will come back. The ambiance isn’t great, but the authenticity of the food is what drives their business.

I ordered the fried pork with black rice. First time getting the platter and I’m chewing on more fat than pork. Not what I had expected. I’d rather wait for food to be properly prepared than get a rush job with food prepped poorly. The white pieces have a thick layer of pork fat. What a shame especially since I gave a tip.

Update: The food is still delicious. The customer service has gotten better. However, they have reduced their portion sizes. The former small is now the large and they have a new smaller small. You can now get maybe 2 meals out of the medium, which is still a decent deal.
The food is delicious. It tastes just like your mom’s, dad’s grand pappy’s, auntie’s, etc. The portion sizes are generous. I can usually get 3 meals out of their large portion. I took 1 star off because customer service is horrible . The people at the counter range from aloof on a good to straight up disrespectful on a bad day. Also, there is no consistent menu. You have to call ahead to see what available. I’ll definitely keep coming here because it’s the best Haitian food in this area.

This chicken here is amazing it’s so authentic . There’s nothing fancy about this place but if you need good authentic food come here. I don’t understand the hours of operation and I’ve passed this place many years before I went inside .

My first time in Jersey restaurant, I was so excited to order some Haitian food. The lady doesn’t know how to welcome the customers, staying in the phone not even a little smile. The food is a No No!! Diri ak djondjon , kabrit. The rice was gray not black no taste.The goat dry salty. I asked her for pikliz she said 50 cents, I taught it’s was free. I was so disappointed don’t mind paying a fortune just cooked the damn food good.

I would like to thank the man above having me land on this restaurant in the middle of Trenton Nj. The food was amazing. I ended up licking my plate. (Don’t judge me). In all seriousness this place have the Haitian culture down pact! Did I mention the food was delicious!! I’ll be back for sure.

Great service! I was hosting a party and I ordered a few trays of food from Manmie Joe. The gentleman who handles the orders was great. He had great customer service skills. I am not giving it a 5 stars because the place needs a few renovations, does not look clean enough. The food was delicious as per my guests’ comments.

I miss this place so much. My father use to take me here when I was 10 and i could really experience my culture. I’m 35 now and I haven’t had the pleasure of tasting this food. I miss it so much! Mommie Joe was an amazing lady! I love her! Hopefully sometime soon I can go back and relive my childhood!
