Was badly craving tamales but was very disappointed in results. Ordered 6 chicken and 6 pork tamales. Meat to masa ratio was very poor. Needs more meat. All I tasted was the masa, which was very moist. Meat lacked in flavor and quantity. The salsa was disappointingly the best part of the entire experience.
Owner was very friendly. But I doubt that I will return to this place.

This was my first visit. I ordered a mixed dozen of pork & chicken and 1/2 dozen of spinach tamales. These are hands down some of the best tamales I’ve ever had. I couldn’t make it home, we started eating them while still in the parking lot. The green salsa is amazing as well. The customer service experience was very pleasant. I enjoyed everything and can’t wait to go back!

I NEEDED to find a place that sold authentic Mexican handmade tamales in SW Houston. I didn’t want to drive all the way up north to Alamo Tamales. So I did a Google search and found an article by KHOU Channel 11. I am jumping for joy — in my imagination, of course, because I can’t afford to injure myself so close to Christmas. Anyway, these tamales are DELICIOUS! I got the green sauce but the pork is already savory. I also bought a bottle of Mexican Coke because it goes well with tamales. I couldn’t wait to get home to start eating. Christmas in Texas means tamales. Y’all go to Momma’s and support this wonderful local small business!

been getting food there every so often the past year or so and everything is always very good. I asked if they did individual tamales so that I could try a new flavor and they said they didn’t but they gave me one for free which was very nice, and so far I have tried, jalapeño and cheese, chicken, black, bean, and the spinach and cheese, which I wasn’t crazy about the time I tried it, but I look forward to trying the brisket and cheese sometime and I don’t even like beans, but the bean one was also very good and I love their green sauce!

there’s a piece of paper saying only three people are allowed in the store, next to the door(not on the door) … so me and my family (three of us total) didn’t see this small sign so we were inside waiting because we already knew what we wanted and THOUGHT it would be quick. Then a lady from the back came to the front and we thought she was about to take our order but instead she said “We have a sign that says three people only”… and then pointed at the door. We decided not to spend our money here because she could have been more polite in her tone and choice of words. My mother also went at a different time and was told there was no more chicken tamales, but while my mom was STILL in the store another lady came and asked for the same thing…chicken tamales… and guess what.. the lady working had chicken tamales for the next lady but NOT FOR MY MOTHER?? I don’t know why my family was treated differently than their other customers but we will NOT be going back.

READ Honest review I love Tamales and very picky eater. The first time I had tamales from here was at the Braeswood farmers market they tasted good and fresh. However this second time I went to the actual location not greeted or friendly service . I went early thinking opening time thinking they’re made fresh. Turns out only the outside was hot!!!! When I got home the tamales were cold seemed over heated. The meat was dry on both the pork and chicken, more the chicken it tasted pretty bad I only ate one my kid one. We all agreed definely NOT fresh or homemade they tasted like the machine tamales. The green sauce was not spicy at all and very thin. Please avoid mamas their quality freshness went down and pricey not worth it for taste and dryness. Take my advice I love my Hispanic food but this definely not authentic or fresh. My last time will rather drive to the Alamo. See photos they don’t even look tasty.

I made a mistake and completely forgot to place my large order before I got there, but they were still able to give me what I needed to get out of there in 10 minutes. The food was also amazing and I got some many compliments at the pot luck. I def should have grabbed more of their business cards.

The 3 pork tamale plate with rice and beans rocks. For drinks they sell bottled sodas. No seating at all. This is a good place for a quick bite on the go.

My mom placed an order for tamales and was told she could pick them up on Saturday. After Christmas, they finally sent the pickup address, which turned out to be a police station. When my mom called the number provided, they told her they were not open on Saturdays, completely contradicting what we were originally told.
We spent about $100 and were unable to receive anything. Luckily, the bank refunded the charge after we contacted them. We also reported the situation to the police department.
Very disappointing experience and extremely unprofessional. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.

Great spot love it here, their tamales are the best I’ve tried in a long time. Definitely recommend coming here for some great tamales.
Update: I ordered tamales for new years and sadly one of them had a long hair inside of the tamal, this was very disappointing since they are usually great.
