I ordered the turkey wing and pork chop dinners, both with greens, potato salad and Mac & cheese. The portions are generous, however, the food was under seasoned and the texture of some of the dishes was interesting. The Mac & cheese was not seasoned and, somehow soggy and dry at the same time. The greens were over cooked to the point they were almost mushy. The only seasoning I could taste in the potato salad was sugar. The baked turkey wings were burnt. They packaged the cold potato salad inside the same container the hot entree was in. I ordered a side of gravy and received a ketchup sized container of what looks like pan drippings. I really wanted to love this restaurant so I gave it a second try. Unfortunately, the second time was not the charm.

I Hate to leave a review like this,but it’s my honest truth. Well let’s just say I will not be ordering again. I waited 30 minutes for so called fresh food. The baked Mac and cheese was unseasoned,the mixed greens unseasoned the fish was ok mild seasoning. Just not what I expected from a soul food place.

I certainly won’t return. The mac and cheese and collard greens have no flavor at all, the greens literally just taste like water. The cornbread tastes stale and a lot like cornmeal ( so again, lacking flavor). The chicken was okay, just baked in bbq sauce.

I wanted to support a Black-owned business on this lunch trip. The food was so-so. The woman, maybe the owner, was polite but initially gave me attitude. I definitely heard a microwave go off, so I didn’t believe it when she said everything was made “fresh.” The portions were kinda small for the price compared to food I’ve eaten in the area from other establishments. I’d go back and try again if I had few other options. I went. Supported the business. But probably wouldn’t go back if I had to.
