Succulent pork. Tender brisket. Juicy Smoked Turkey. Mouth watering Mac-n-cheese. And the best crispy fried pickles I’ve ever had. If you are a BBQ lover you will adore Momma’s delicious fare and friendly service. Don’t deny your tastebuds this incredible experience.

This was my first time visiting Kentucky. I was told this place is a must try! I believe it even originated from Louisville, Kentucky. I am a big chicken wings fan. On their menu, they boast about having the best chicken wings ever. Naturally, I had to order them! My order came out pretty dang quick. I was so excited to dig in. Unfortunately, they weren’t as good as I expected. Though the meat of all the wings were moist and soft, the seasoning was quite basic and over salty. I had to ask for some lemons to cut the saltiness, even with the different kinds of BBQ sauces. Speaking of the sauces, they had a regular BBQ and spicy BBQ sauce. I could not tell the difference between the two when it came to flavor. I didn’t feel any spice! I squirted them out side by side and the color was exactly the same. The place is nice and clean. Good vibes

Traveling for work and thankful for an interesting local place near my hotel and many chain restaurants. Bonus points for the sidewalk along the busy road so I could walk safely!
I ordered sliders sans buns (a steal at $3.50!) to sample a variety of meats. The meatloaf, fried bologna and green beans were stand out favorites. I had plenty of leftovers and took a sweet tea to go. Service was quick and friendly. Food was stupidly affordable.
I left here with a stupid grin and must have told my server how happy I was 37 times.
Obviously I tried both kinds of pickles – you should also get both.

This place does not mess around. Flat out outstanding barbecue and easily some of the best I have had anywhere. The pulled pork is done right. Smoky. Tender. Packed with flavor. No sauce needed. The wings are on another level. Top three wings I have ever had. Period. Perfectly cooked. Incredible flavor. A must-order and a reason to come back by themselves.
The fried bologna is fantastic. Old-school. Bold. Crispy edges. Pure comfort food done right. It sounds simple but they execute it perfectly.
The brisket slider was the only thing that did not blow me away. A little dry in slider form. That said, this feels like a portion issue, not a skill issue. I would absolutely try a full brisket order next time without hesitation.
Overall, this place is the real deal. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just serious barbecue done by people who know what they are doing. If you care about quality BBQ, you need to eat here.

I did a pick up order and I must admit the customer service was stellar. The food, however, was terrible! I did not enjoy any of this. It was very bland with minimal to no seasoning. The potato salad was gross. Mac and cheese was dry and stiff. The beef ribs had so much fat that when I bit it I wanted to throw up. The brisket sandwich was ok but the brisket was a little overcooked in my opinion. The coleslaw was too vinegary and the baked beans were literally pork and beans with no type of flavor. Lastly the donut bread pudding thing was hard and also tasteless. Overall, I won’t eat here again but it’s Kentucky BBQ so maybe others like it.

We stopped in after a long drive from Ohio, and this place was exactly what we needed. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, great flavors, though the food was a bit lukewarm.
But the real stars were the wings and the brisket sandwich. Both were absolutely amazing and worth the visit on their own. Definitely come here for their chicken and brisket—and don’t miss out on their punch or the drink flight. Highly recommend!

The best server in Louisville’s name is Jess and she worked at mama’s BBQ! We came in tired after a long day and after our food and jess’s impeccable service, we were immediately revived! The wings were really really good and the sweet barbecue sauce we could not get enough of. We will be back next time and we will ask for Jess as our server again!

I was hoping much more after so many people recommended this place. It was ok, it’s not bad at all, but it has nothing special.
The wings were well cooked but bland, and the only options of sauce are bbq, “spicy bbq” and apple cider vinegar. The Brisket very dry but the cole slaw was fantastic.

I purchased the Momma’s Peach Tea and when asked if I wanted it with vodka or bourbon, me not knowing which one, the waitress suggested bourbon. It did not disappoint. It wasn’t overly strong with liquor and the peach puree added a nice texture to it. For my meal I got the pulled pork grilled cheese with both the Havarti and white cheddar cheese with the green beans and corn bread. Once again definitely did not disappoint. My singular complaint is that there is quite a large amount of pepper on the green beans. It did not take away from the flavor, I just cant eat alotnof pepper due to allergies so I was unable to finish them. Corn bread was sweet and moist. And the price for the quality of food was very pleasing. Definitely coming back.

Stopped by Momma’s on Hurstbourne Tuesday evening. Good crowd and great atmosphere. I had the wings and the brisket cheese sandwich—wings were amazing, and the sandwich was really good too. Got mac and cheese (yummy!) and baked beans on the side—both were delicious. All around a great meal. I’d definitely come back!
