Hey, hey y’all, let me tell you about this place called Momma Dede’s. They are so delicious, fresh, and affordable. Everything is amazing. I knew when I saw a couple of older women who look like they don’t play when it comes to church or about their furniture walk in, I just knew it was about to go down. Because it’s rare for a lot of older men and women who are in their 60s and up to enjoy outside food, especially my great grandma. The service was amazing, music amazing, food? Man, over the top. Don’t get me started, the fried chicken was so good, I can’t even find the words to describe it. I’m not going to lie, the mac and cheese, baked beans, cabbage, corn bread, and rib tips were amazing. You better believe this will be my go-to for the next few months. And did I mention this is a Black-owned restaurant? Yeah, I will be back. THANKYGAAAAA

Babyyyyyy I’m so glad we found this soul food place on Tara Boulevard connected to the Citgo Gas station on the corner…..Lovejoy Pointe! We are from the south and cook cook and if I am telling you that this food will make you smack your mama believe me!! Everything always cooked fresh and some things are cooked to order!PLUS black owned with great customer service! Location is clean and nice decor there is sitting to eat inside as well!

The salmon patty took me by surprise cause most places just don’t get it right! It was really good, the home fries were seasoned really good and eggs are just eggs.
The baked berms were good a little too sweet and the potato salad just wasn’t for me. Don’t like the taste I couldn’t get with whatever they used for the base.
The peach cobbler cake was okay.

I come here often with my 5 year old and it’s a hit everytime . I always get him his own plate cause ain’t no sharing . The cashier is always nice and the service is always good. This past time I decided to order my son the fried fish plate (swai) and I got my usual fried pork chop plate. I decided to try a piece of his fish and when I tell y’all that fish was so damn good. It was seasoned DOWN… I was so mad I didn’t get the order of the fish for myself and they give you a decent size fish (2 pieces) as well so it’s most definitely worth the $19 per plate. This will be in our regular little rotation whenever I’m feeling like I DO wanna go eat out.

I ordered the three meat plate (sausage, smoked chicken wings and rib tips) which comes with two sides and cornbread, I ordered potato salad and bbq baked beans, oh so good!!! The rib tips were so tender and the cornbread was outstanding! Only negative was the line but they move pretty fast. Also, with food this good, I can definitely understand the line. This is our new go to place for REAL soul food. I wish this business much success, God bless!!!

Went here on Thanksgiving day I’ve been a little under the weather and I really don’t have any family to go to house for Thanksgiving it’s an emotional time , but I did literally want bbq and soulfood this place hit both markers it’s not a big establishment it’s on a gas station strip but the food was very good the meats are smoked even the oxtails which is a new experience for me but everything was tender and seasoned well , the prices are more than reasonable if you eat out and know food prices they are definitely priced accordingly , I have no complaints wait time wasn’t long staff was fast friendly and efficient the only reason for 4 star instead of 5 is for overall considering location , atmosphere and all but as far as food that’s all good definitely would try again something different just to see if not just the bbq is good

I wanted some soul food & I got exactly what I asked for. The food was full of flavor and worth every dollar. I got the smoked baby back rib plate with yams & collard greens. Also I ordered the vegetable plate ( deviled eggs, potato salad, baked beans & macaroni & cheese) I wanted a variety. I was so satisfied with the food and the portions were sufficient.

I was looking for some good soul food that reminds me of when mom use to cook. Remind you I’m from St. Louis known for bbq. Most of the soul food businesses were either out of businesses or closed at 430pm. I googled soul food close to me and found Mommadedes. When I arrived and saw choices it was overwhelming, I wanted everything. Lol. I chose the smothered chicken plate, rib plate, smoked wings, peach cobbler and sweet potato pie. This was not just for me, ordered for two. Everything was amazing. The chicken and ribs fell off the bone. The sides were well seasoned and not salty. The deserts were also good. It wasn’t exactly how my mom prepared it, but it was amazing and I know mom would have given it a thumbs up.

Gotta be some of the BEST southern cooking food I’ve ever eaten. It was so good my fiance was ALL over the beans and coleslaw and she NEVER eats it usually anywhere else. They also load up on food and give you so much for the cost. Completely worth it and absolutely delicious. They’ve made permanent customers and I can’t wait to try their other food.

After reading the reviews still skeptical I decided to give this place a try. Being a pretty new resident to the area I’ve been looking for a place that gives that grandma’s Sunday dinner feel. I decided to try the fried Swai, collard greens and yams. My other half had the smoked rib tips, black eye peas, green beans and banana pudding. We ordered to go and when we got the food home everything was still very warm. The fish was fried hard and seasoned well, and was the best I’ve had so far in this area. I’m not a big fan of greens but eat them every now and then. Theirs were a little salty but not bad at all and the yams were decent. My other half enjoyed the smoked ribs, they were juicy , tender and seasoned well. He also loved the black eye peas and banana pudding. We will definitely eat here again in the future. Overall, we both thought the food was good.
