Friend recommended this place and it was good! Loved the ambiance and interior. Upon walking in you think it’s a small spot, but there’s a whole other section in the back for seating! My friends who ordered the bowl and sashimi said the fish tasted very fresh. Me and a few other friends split the special rolls and thought the Capitol hill and pine place were the best! For one of the rolls the tempura didnt taste very fresh, but it may be because we came around 10pm. The service was amazing, our server was so friendly and gave us recommendations. Since this is located in dt, it’s a bit difficult to find parking, so you’ll have to find street parking. Definitely recommend hitting this spot if you’re in the city 🙂

Absolutely loved our experience at Momiji. The food was excellent, especially the rolls—they were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. Every roll we tried really stood out, both in taste and quality.

The ingredients tasted fresh, the balance of flavors was spot on, and it’s clear a lot of care goes into the food here. If you’re a sushi lover, the rolls alone are worth coming back for. Easily one of the better sushi experiences we’ve had.

The food and cocktails tasted fresh and balanced as they were delightfully presented. Although the restaurant was sizable with a huge dining room in the back, the clever layout and lighting gave our little bar table by the front door an intimate and understated feel. That elegance made the food pop with color and underlaid every delicious bite. Momiji had both very traditional Japanese dishes and some surprising combinations that were unusual and turned out to be innovative flavors that were in harmony with their fresh ingredients. Not your typical sushi.

Our server was very sweet and enthusiastically attentive. I could tell that the rest of the staff were mentoring her and helping her with her in the front bar area. Everyone helped out from the bartender to the manager, Lawrence, who stopped by with part of the order to chat with us about the food and service. He was especially attentive and respectful to the seniors in the dining room, walking one of them back to her table, even though dinner service was in full swing.

We must’ve come on a good night. We thought we’d have a quiet dinner on a stormy Tuesday night. But we got a live performance by a professional mariachi troupe that started in the bar and moved between the tables into the back dining room. What an absolute treat after daylight savings took back that hour and made 6:30 pitch dark when the Seattle rain started to fall in earnest again. I had a blast after a gloomy December day.

They opened a location in Redmond too by the light rail station. I must try that the next time I am there.

This is easily the best sushi restaurant around. Every piece was unbelievably fresh, perfectly cut, and well balanced in flavor. The chefs clearly take pride in their craft, and it shows in every bite. The service was fantastic too! friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you’re a sushi beginner or a longtime fan, this spot sets the bar high. Definitely will be back.

Enjoyed every bit of the experience at the restaurant. Service was excellent, and the food was even better! Biggest menu at a sushi place I’ve seen. Lots of options for whatever you are in the mood for including some vegetarian options I noticed. The salad we shared tasted awesome and was more than big enough to share. Music was going, but was quiet enough to be background noise.

Momiji is a hidden gem for sure. At first glance it is a very quaint sushi spot but when you go back to the dining area, it becomes a Japanese inspired wonderland. They have a traditional garden, everything is tidy, comfortable, and the a single roll with a piece of nigiri is the perfect amount of food, filling you up without feeling stuffed. The fish was fresh, rice was soft, and water was crisp.

Excellent Sushi & Ambiance!
This spot is a fantastic find. The staff was incredibly courteous and welcoming, and the interior design is very chic and calming—especially the beautiful small Japanese garden visible from the dining area.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The Birds of Paradise roll was a delicious standout, and the Blue Crab Roll was fresh and flavorful. Don’t skip the fried chicken (perfectly crispy!). The complimentary edamame was a nice start. Highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the setting.

My friend and I went for happy hour. They gave us edamame to start. The grilled garlic short ribs and agedashi tofu were delicious! The “Don’t Lychee to Me” cocktail was lovely though I wish it was a bit larger We didn’t love the crunchy Seattle or the Spicy tuna roll as much. The spicy tuna roll consists of tuna and sauce mushed up instead of a piece of tuna so it was different from what I was expecting texture wise.

The sushi was fine, good. Won’t be going back. I can get equally good or better sushi at other places for a cheaper price.
The yamagobo in the Hotter Than Hell roll was really bitter and overpowering. Ruined the roll. Still burping up the flavor the next day. I usually like any and all food, especially all things sushi. I’ve had allllll the sushi. I know good sushi from bad sushi. This wasn’t bad sushi, but that yamagobo was something else. And I don’t usually dislike the taste of that many things. Also some of the rolls tasted just a bit too strongly of citrus. The $65 omakase was good…

Server wasn’t very friendly.
