I live 60 miles away, but while traveling up Rt 81 heading home, I discovered this hidden gem in the Polish section of Nanticoke/Wilkes Barre. Growing up in NJ, we used to go to The Pierogi Factory, which was in a renovated large garage behind a house in Wallington. There sat three or four grandma’s, aprons on, and they made tray after tray of fresh pierogi’s. Well, I just stumbled into a similar place, but it’s in a house! Dad, and two of the kids making lots of varieties of nice sized, fresh pierogi.
There’s all the regular standbys, plus many, many others. I bought sauerkraut, potato extra cheese, fresh Halupki ( OMG soooooo good!), and a nice ring of kielbasa. They also make fresh stuffed cabbage (gwumpki), packaged and ready to go. Their prices are good for fresh homemade products. I’ll let you know once I try the kielbasa at home how that was. (Tried and very good.)
I already know that my car will automatically turn off the highway every time I’m traveling nearby and stop here for some fresh Polish items to bring home.
Parking is right up front. Paul took care of me and was very friendly and helpful. Folks, stop here at this Mom and Pop Pierogi store. I think you’ll be glad you did.
Note: After trying the pierogi’s, they were found to have a good flavor, but the dough was more like a pie crust and thick. The sauerkraut was more potato mixed in.

When in NEPA you have to get these perogies!! Great uncooked selection though the options for getting cooked pierogies to-go were limited. Prices are excellent- food is made with care and it shows.

1st time stopping in. Everyone was hard at work back in the kitchen, folding perogies, cutting cabbage, or scooping filling. The selection of pierogies is a bit overwhelming. There are fresh, frozen and cooked to go. I was hungry go I selected 1 of each for the 4 cooked to go flavors. They were fried in butter and served with diced onion. I would have liked them cooked till brown and the onions sliced but they were hot and delicious the way they serve them. Sour cream was extra.
There are no tables inside. Utensils were included
I brought home Gołąbki, kielbasa, and more pierogi. I failed to remember the piggy sauce for the Gołąbki. I’m looking forward to cooking up that kielbasa.

Amazing food! Everything was delicious. The pierogies are 100% authentic, and the stuffed cabbage (piggies) was also the best.

The best pierogi you’ll ever have. I always stock up when I’m in town. They freeze very well. Thaw them out 12 hours in the fridge. For this type of pierogi, they’re better sauteed than steamed. I saute them on the stove (set to medium) with lots of unsalted butter until browned, then serve with plenty of salted butter. Also the best kielbasa you’ll get in eastern PA.

The food is always good. I have tried a few different items and I am never disappointed.

The worst pierogies i ever had! Tasteless and they looked like footballs made out of hard crumbly dough. We threw 80.00 worth of pierogies and raviolis in the garbage. Never again! Our polish families are rolling over! Terrible!
