If you are looking for good home cooked meals and a cozy & homey environment, Mom & Pop’s Cafe & Catering has it down pat.
I tried their Chicken noodle soup and I didn’t leave a drop. I also tried their Cranberry orange muffin. This muffin was bursting with flavor right down to the last crumb. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The owners Kaila & Steve come out and check on the customers themselves, not just the waiting staff. The customers clearly know who Kaila and Steve are as they stop at each table to speak with them. The environment is clean, well kept, beautiful and makes you feel at home. The tables are set up for sets of 2, 4 & 6 but I’m told can be pushed together for more. There is a salad & pastry section for those who would like a quick snack for to go. The location is easy to get to and easy to see from the road. They may be the new owners but things are looking smooth, and I’ll be back for sure.

This was my first time coming here, and I will be back! First, the parking lot is PACKED and there were people standing at the door…but don’t let that scare you! They just do a busy takeout service. We got a table inside with no problem, no wait. The menu is enormous…like a diner, where you can basically order whatever you probably feel like eating for breakfast or lunch. There are so many options! I ended up getting the turkey club sandwich. I had an option to have it with chips or a side salad. The sandwich was great! They did not skimp….in fact, the sandwich was so big I had to eat the sections in mini-sections. The interior was tidy and clean, and it was bustling with fun energy. We will definitely be back!

Our order took a very, very long time to prepare. They claimed it was the first day under new owners and that there had been a big door dash order just before us. Still, they could have let us know about the wait. Chicken parm sub was very good. Home made potato chips were mixed, some were soggy and salt clumped, some were OK. I will try eating here one more time in 2-3 weeks before I remove it from my list of good restaurants.

Went for breakfast, cute little place. The service was great. Very clean area. I ordered eggs and bacon. Eggs were fine. Bacon tasted like pre-cooked heat and serve. Hash potatoes prob same as well. Nice idea to save from wasting product with slow turnaround. But you compromise on the taste. Wife said sausage gravy was very good.

Been wanting to try these guys for a while. First thing I noticed is how cozy the place is. Walked by the desserts on the way to the table, they looked good.
Ordered eggs Benedict, hash, a margarita pizza and a ham club.
The sauce in the eggs Benedict had a lemon flavor and tasted like it was homemade. Eggs were a little undercooked for my tastes, kinda runny. Home fries were average.
The hash had good flavor. It tasted like they doctored up the cheap hash you get from the store.
For a breakfast place, I was surprised how good the margarita pizza was. Sauce tasted like real tomatoes, cheese was thin but fresh. The dough had a flavor I couldn’t put my finger on. Really enjoyed the crust.
Imported swiss cheese on the Ham Club balanced out with average grade ham. It was well made and tasty.
Service was good. Only had two waitresses on, yet they handled business when the place was busy. Still attentive and friendly.

I always said, just when you think you can’t find something more you like about Ballston Spa . You find something more that you love about Ballston Spa ! And after 14 years of living here today, I found another thing that makes me love, Ballston Spa more! Mom and pops diner next to Curtis lumber. It’s a secret gem then I bypass for 14 years. Unbelievable food, service, and prices! A perfect example of Ballston Spa hospitality and small hometown feeling.
