An Italian restaurant lost in time. I’ve been frequenting this family owned stalwart for over 35 years but this was my first time in a long time. The food is the same, for better or worse, but mostly worse–bland marinara sauce, vinegary house salad, Cheezit flavored-pizza. Their saving grace is the venerable Spaghetti alla Bruzzi.

We were recommended to try this place from our neighbors. Well we were very disappointed . The atmosphere was an old house which is fine but our table was out in the middle of traffic near the waiting area where folks were lined up waiting for a table and starringat us while ate hoping we would hurry up so they could grab our tabke. My wife got a steak dinner which was highly recommended to her. It was a good portion but very salty. And we like salt on food but this was extreme. Her ham bean soup tasty also very salty. My salad consisted of just lettuce and one quarter of a tomato that’s it. There house dressing tasted very tasteless. My chicken Parmigian was a major bust. We were told although not breaded it was delicious. To me it tasted like a plain chicken cutlet with cheese and sauce somethingI could of made at home. Probably the chicken is a healthier option then fried and breaded but when i eat Italian i dont worry about health I want excellent food. The red sauce was watery and tasteless. The spaghetti was hard and not cooked enough. The house chianti was delicious. Our waitress was wonderful and extremely attentive! There bread was tasteless and almost cold to the mouth. We won’t deviate from our wonderful go to spot Sammy’s and Piesanos and Red Sauce. Glad we tried it but we won’t be back. We’re kind of surprised of the long wait and crowd but everyone has different expectations when it comes to food and this was not what we want when it comes to Italian food.

The food is fresh and tastes wonderful. Fresh made bread and pasta. Far better than O.G. For sure. A really nice cozy place for a nice dinner.

Friendly efficient staff. Good home style cooking. Would have rated higher but the veal in my dish was tough. I did not say anything because we had a group and didn’t want to wait for another preparation. Overall we will go back.

Service was good which is why I gave it 2 stars. The bread was good as was the salad dressing, house italian. Now the pastas, had penne and meatballs. Penne cooked well but the sauce had zero flavor. The meatballs had even less than zero flavor if that’s even possible. Another in the party had angel hair with meat sauce. Again pasta cooked well but sauce was lacking any flavor. Another in the party had meat ravioli with meat sauce. I think you know how the sauce was. The ravioli pasta was supper thin so had no pasta flavor. The meat filled had mostly sausage which was at best a weak sausage. It was a very disappointing meal because we have driven by many times but always at a time that they weren’t open. The vibe of the place is really good though. Smelled good walking in. Really thought we had found a good place but unfortunately not. Feel no reason to go back.

Mom & Dad’s is a lovely little Italian restaurant in Lady Lake, Florida on Route 441 / 27. It is easily seen from the car while driving along. It has handicap accessible parking, entrance and restrooms. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated promptly. We were offered regular or gluten-free menus. Their menu states they have the best fried chicken in the state. Two of the members of our party inquired about this and we’re told it took 25 minutes to cook, so they ordered their dinners with our drink orders while the rest of us looked over the menus. All dinners come with either soup or salad. Today’s soup of the day was eggplant soup. It is a cream-based soup and was good. The rest of our party ordered a calzone, chicken alfredo and cheese ravioli. The chicken dinners came out hot and crispy. Unfortunately one of the chicken dinners was quite overcooked to one of my parties taste. It was promptly removed and another dinner was cooked. The second chicken dinner came out perfect. Note, they had their salad and side of spaghetti to eat while waiting. The chicken alfredo was nice. The calzone that was ordered was the large, and it was. It was approximately 13 – 14 inches. You can order whatever fillings you wish and my party said it was excellent. And finally, I had ordered the cheese ravioli with marinara and was pleasantly surprised. The raviolis are homemade and were excellent. The house marinara sauce is very nice as well. The sixth member of my party ordered a plate to share. This cost $4.50 but includes either a soup or salad of your own which is less than ordering it separate. As all of our dinners we were quite large in proportion, this is a very good option. The restaurant itself is smaller but quite cozy and inviting. There is one small room that has 4 tables which would be nice for a larger party. They have a large wine selection and wine racks are part of the decor. At the end of our meals, we asked for to-go cartons and I give this establishment extra kudos for their choice of cardboard versus styrofoam containers. They are well made and easier to handle than styrofoam as well. They have desserts available but none of our party tried them as we were all quite full from dinner.

I like a Mom and Pop versus chain so I was happy. We ordered the baked lasagna smothered in cheese! Delicious and the bread was good too. Enjoyed the music that fit with the environment.

Everything was great, the place is cozy, the service fast, the food delicious & the bread is outstanding. I especially loved the dessert, a German chocolate personal cake. We intend to visit many more times in the future.

Waitresses were nice. But We waited an hour to be seated just for the food to be disgusting. No flavor at all, the chicken was rubbery, the soda was watered down, and the pasta sauces had no flavor at all. On top of it the bill was $60+ dollars for 2 people. Not coming back. Would give 0 stars if i could.
