This little hidden gem was such a pleasure to visit. Since my wife and I were out of town, we wanted to try something new since we were craving something sweet. We walked in and were surprised at the many options Molly’s offered. Once I saw the display case, I knew we were in trouble.
The ladies behind the counter both days were very nice, patient, and friendly. We ordered a 4-pack of cupcakes both days, and my favorite was the peach cobbler cupcake. My wife said it was a tie between the dulce de leche churro and the white chocolate raspberry.
I am so glad we were just visiting from out of town because those cupcakes are so delicious, you’ll want to return the next day like we did. One of the things we loved most was how delicious the buttercream frosting was—it really melts in your mouth. For so long, I have taken the frosting off cupcakes because it was too sweet and pretty heavy. You won’t have that problem with Molly’s Cupcakes.

⭐️⭐️ 2 Stars — Disappointed at Old Orchard Location
We absolutely love Molly’s Cupcakes — we go about once a week and have always had amazing experiences at every other location. We are regulars, each birthday/occasion we are ordering our cakes here. The cupcakes are incredible, and the staff everywhere else has always been kind, welcoming, and respectful — especially when it comes to using our military discount.
Unfortunately, the Old Orchard location has been a major letdown because of one employee who consistently makes visits uncomfortable. Each time we’ve gone, she’s given us a hard time about the discount and acts as if we’re inconveniencing her just by ordering. To make matters worse, she even misspelled my mother-in-law’s name on a cake order and showed zero accountability — just more attitude.
It’s disappointing because we truly love Molly’s and this location is in our city, but the service from this particular employee puts a real stain on the experience. At this point, we’d rather drive to Rosemont or Chicago (or even Schaumburg if it were still open) just to get the friendly service Molly’s is known for.
I hope management addresses this, because Molly’s deserves better representation than this.

i’ve always loved Molly’s Cupcakes they’ve been a go-to treat for me. But recently, something about the flavor has changed. It’s just not the same as it used to be. Still good, but not what it once was, so I’m taking off one star.

The service was excellent and quick, however the butter cream icing was terrible on the red velvet cupcake with the chocolate filling , it was like eating a stick of butter that had been out for 8 hours there was barely any sweetness to it. The cupcake was actually moist they just need to improve the frosting! I expect more for $5

Cashier intentionally ignored me and went to service a customer that got in line after me first (1/9/26 ~3:50pm CT). I don’t accept that type of treatment so I left without purchasing. I have purchased items here before that I enjoyed. Unfortunately this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth and I won’t be back.

We picked up a pack of 6 cupcakes which were ok overall. The cupcakes have decent flavor but they were fairly dry as far as the cupcake itself. The Nutella Peanut Butter cupcake was probably the most decently moist due to the filling but for sure could be better. To me these are good but nothing I would necessarily go out of my way to stop in and get. If you are already at Old Orchard for other things I would say try a cupcake out but a 6 pack may be pushing it for a first try.
