Overall, good place and good food; our server left for the day and it seemed that the other staff kinda dropped the ball, would have been 5 stars for service otherwise. Food is very traditional Italian and if I could do 4.5 stars I would. Atmosphere is decent, a subtle mix between mimicking an Italian street restaurant and a suburban shopping mall… plastic toss away cups should definitely be replaced with actual glassware. I’d eat there again if in the area.

The surprises to be found in a strip mall! Warm welcoming and good food at great prices. Greeted warmly by Mollie herself. Took a seat as she personally interacted with the little ones of a family also dining. The father of the family recommended the lasagna, and i was not disappointed. It came with two spicy turkey meatball and provided the warm hug of comfort needed after a day at the office. Definitely recommend

I really need to recommend Mollie’s cooking. I’ve known her for over 20 years, and she truly is an exceptional Italian cook, more like a world-class chef. Over the years, I have eaten in a couple of her restaurants. The food was always amazing/exceptional. Her ability to create delicious sauces and elevate simple pasta dishes is wonderful. You should also try her incredible fish soup— not on the menu anymore, but if you happen to have any seafood, you could ask her to prepare it (but you need to call ahead); it’s a real treat.

This newer, smaller restaurant has a more personal and unique atmosphere – it truly feels like you’re dining right in Mollie’s kitchen. but as such contributes to a truly wonderful and memorable dining experience.

While it’s true that you need to stand in line to order, and the place is more like a deli than a traditional restaurant, the quality of the food Mollie serves makes it absolutely worthwhile. The menu might be smaller these days, but trust me, it’s an experience you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend treating yourself to a meal there!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. I had heard about Mollie’s culinary talents years ago, and finally made my way to the Santa Barbara area and tracked down her current location. Her food is out of this world. I had the spaghetti bolognese, and my friend had the lasagne bolognese – both were outstanding. I lost track of how many times we said “this is SO delicious” – after almost every bite. Truly the best pasta dishes I have ever had, and I travel and eat out frequently. Another couple who came in for dinner was also from out of town – it was their last night in the area – and it was their 3rd visit in a week. Don’t miss it.

Mollie’s Italian Deli is the real deal and a wonderful new asset to Carpinteria! Staff was welcoming and accommodating. One can eat there or order to go. There is one table inside that seats four and several small tables on the sidewalk outside. Beautiful local organic produce as well as imported Italian food products are available for sale as well as pasta dishes, salads, and sandwiches. There is also Italian style coffee. Award-winning Chef Mollie’s cookbook is also available for sale! I ordered the veggie pasta to go and it was freshly prepared and delicious! I thought the prices were a little high, but then again, food is expensive these days.

This is the BEST Italian food you will find in the Central coast area. A true gem in Carpinteria this restaurant offers 5 star entrees with a personal hometown feel. The layout and setup may not align with a traditional sit down restaurant but the food is next level. The Lasagna is a Must try. The best lasagna I’ve ever had and it’s not even close, sorry grandma. Every dish is extremely fresh and delicious. Can not recommend more.

This is the most disappointing $16 sandwich I’ve ever had. After tax and tip I spent $20 on a sandwich that had very little of anything. One slice of salami and cheese. Iceberg lettuce and tomato. That’s it. I understand the cost of everything has gone up but absolutely no reason this sandwich should cost $16. After reading some reviews on trip advisor sounds like it’s the norm. Over priced mediocre food in small portions. I’m always one to support local but won’t be going here again.
