I had a dinner with friends here. There’s many tables to choose from and many parking options around the area as well.
I ordered the Carne Asada, which is usually my “go to” when I eat at a mexican restaurant. Wait time wasn’t so bad. The chips and salsa were good too, the tortilla chips were crunchy and salsa was flavorful. But unfortunately, my Carne Asada fell flat. I asked the beef to be cooked at medium but the beef was tough and overcooked. I was surprised at how dry it was. There were some pieces of the beef that were decent, but overall just too overcooked and dry for me. It was pretty disappointing actually for my first time here.
Service was great, they were attentive and checked up on us from time to time. I just felt like the Carne Asada price at $17.99 did not correlate with the quality of meat at all. The other sides were good, like the avocado, beans and rice. And the overall portion size was great too. But for the dish as a whole, I can’t justify the price for that. I’ve been to other mexican restaurants in the area with better Carne Asada that I’d choose in a heartbeat.
Despite that experience, I’d come back here but I’d definitely order something else.

Excellent service, Welcoming and Clean Environment, and Tasty Food! The chips were warm and crispy, and the salsa tasted fresh and vibrant with a little heat. Our food was hot and delicious, and our waiter checked on us multiple times bringing extra salsa and refills before we asked. We had a great experience at MolkaXete and will definitely visit again.

Clean place, tasty food, and good service! We came for lunch — it wasn’t very busy, but our order took about half an hour to come out. They brought chips and salsa right away, so we didn’t get bored while waiting. The menu is big, lots of choices, and everything we ordered was really good. It was a bit noisy inside for a conversation — maybe we should’ve sat outside instead. The paintings on the walls were a bit creepy, but maybe we just didn’t get the theme We’ll definitely come back to try more dishes.

New to the area and tried Molka Xete for the 1st time today. I will definitely be returning!! My server Marlene had great food recommendations, made sure my drinks were full, and that I had everything I wanted in a timely matter! I chose the Guacamole Mexicano & the Chicken Fajita Taco Salad…..both amazing! Everything was fresh and the restaurant was spotless.

This is great restaurant but limited food that are gluten-free for the growing population allergic to wheat.
The chips are done in house which is great for the restaurant but they only use one frier so cross-contamination. I would highly recommend to the owners to either buy a separate frier just for the chips or out source them so I could have nachos, chips, sauce, queso, Taquitos etc,
The only thing I cane eat is the beans, rice, and chicken or cheese Enchiladas making sure the cooks clean a place on the griddle to cook my food.
The servers are super friendly/ sweet/ helpful.
The only dessert was flan which I love so it made up for no chips. I did ask if I could have fresh corn tortillas and they were free which was nice.
Would I recommend this restaurant?
Yes but has limited food options without a dedicated frier.
Would I return?
Yes I did for the second time today.

Went for family dinner on Saturday night. The place was busy but we didn’t wait long. The lady cleaning tables was on top of things so as soon as someone left, a table was cleaned and ready for the next guest. They had out chips and (amazing) salsa out even before our server came. The salsa really is great! Our server was friendly and efficient. We have a few special requests on entrees and everything was perfect when the food came out. The food was very delicious! Great vibes, great food, and great service.

Update (March 2025) Handrails, added to front steps into restaurant, are very helpful. Colorful and festive artwork added to the restaurant decor. Food is still delicious.
New restaurant worth a visit…and return visits in the future. Promptly seated and served fresh, warm tortilla chips and tasty salsa. Nice variety of menu offerings; I was pleased to find many dishes offering shrimp as the protein. Service was friendly and attentive, and food was served quickly. Everyone at the table ordered chimichangas; the lunch menu offered smaller portions (at lesser cost), so two in our party ordered the lunch sized ground beef chimichanga… and commented on the generous portion size. I was excited to try the shrimp chimichanga…regular sized portion; it was stuffed with LARGE shrimp that had been nicely grilled before being wrapped in the chimichanga. We also enjoyed the chunky guacamole…very flavorful. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant, due to architectural choices, was very noisy; it seems to be a style choice for many Cambridge Square restaurants.

This was our second visit to Molka Xete in Ooltewah and I can promise you it gets better everytime! Shez is an amazing waitress and we were lucky enough to have her for both visits. If you know me at all, you know I do not eat guacamole! Not only did I eat it tonight, I was ready for seconds too! The atmosphere is perfect and beautiful. Staff are super friendly and serve the BEST mexican food we have ever had! We will be back with lots of friends and family.

Marlene was our waitress today at Molkaxete in Ooltewah. It was my first visit to this location but she made it one I’ll never forget! I’ve never had a waitress feel like part of my family. However, Marlene is the first to achieve that feat. She was highly skilled, genuinely friendly and loved her job. She also did the little things that mattered. I ordered sweet tea with extra ice and lemon. That’s exactly what I got during the entire meal, again and again. She never forgot anything either and was attentive when we needed extras. I may drive the extra 5 miles past the Shallowford location so she can be my waitress from now on. The food was outstanding and possibly better than the other restaurant. As a matter of fact, if I ever open my own restaurant I’m taking her with me. She’s that good!! Thanks for everything Marlene and keep up the great work.

We enjoyed a lunch here before our drive back to Chapel Hill, NC. It’s located in the picturesque Cambridge Square. Our family all had vegetarian selections. The food was fresh tasting and delicious. The salsa and guacamole was slightly spicy for our 12 year old, but fine for the rest of us.
