Social Profile:

Since 1941 Molina’s Cantina has played an integral role within the Houston dining community. More than 80 years after opening the first restaurant, Molina’s Cantina continues to serve its neighbors at three locations around the city. As the third generation to run the family’s restaurants, brothers Roberto, Ricardo and Raul, III, offer many of the original dishes alongside fresh menu updates over the years. Generations of families have enjoyed countless plates of Tex-Mex favorites, including the legendary Enchiladas de Tejas (cheese enchiladas with chili gravy), Jose’s Dip (creamy queso with spicy taco meat), chili con carne (an original recipe!) and the renowned margaritas, all while being welcomed as part of the extended Molina’s family.
One of the oldest (since 1941) family-run eateries in town serves Mexican fare in a lively setting.

My friend and I meet up here every few weeks for fabulous food and drink. The huge selection of refreshing margaritas is amazing. I personally love the frozen margarita with a sangria swirl. The service is consistently excellent and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. We usually eat in the bar area where the seating is very comfortable. The queso is addicting and the fajitas are delicious and cooked to perfection. I believe we’ve tried every type of fajita on the menu and they never disappoint. It is such a treat to come spend an evening enjoying this terrific restaurant.

Respect. They do have Flautas/taquitos. It’s as an appitizer on the menu. The fajitas and the sides were all fresh. They also had the Live Houston Rodeo on the IPTV. I take my 5 star seriously. Great crowd. Enjoy!

Great little intimate cantina to pop into when it’s been one of those weeks! The beef fajita nachos were delicious and filling. The bartender and servers all provided excellent customer service.

Molina’s food and service are very good. We showed up at lunch with a party of 20+ and they seated us immediately with chips and salsa and water for everyone in less than 5 minutes. There were staff attending to each of the multiple tables we occupied and we were never without anything. Our orders were taken quickly and the food arrived in a surprisingly short amount of time. Everything was correct when it came out. Molina’s food is very good Tex-Mex with excellent flavors but not overwhelming. Kudos to Molina’s for maintaining high-levels of service and quality food over the years.

DELICIOUS! I had to go back several times while I was in the area!
Molina’s Cantina in Houston serves up delicious, authentic Mexican dishes with generous portions. The margaritas are a hit, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for a casual night out.

I had Molina’s flagged as a place to try since it was perhaps Houston’s oldest family-run Tex-Mex restaurant. I’m so glad we did.
It’s a beautiful restaurant. I was impressed from the moment we opened the door.
It was between lunch and dinner time. Lunch menu and happy hour continued until 4pm. The portions were very generous for lunch.
I had carnitas. They were perfect. Very tender and tasty with just the right amount of crunch on the outside.
I had both a House and Premium Margarita to go along with everything. I also tasted a Blackberry Margarita and a Mango Margarita.
They’re doing it right at Molina’s. We’ll certainly go back when in the area.
Oh! I almost forgot. Free pralines with the check. So good! What a great experience all around.

I came here with my mom for a late lunch after a doctor’s appointment. The service was quick and helpful. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu.
I have gluten intolerance and they had quite a few options on the menu! Some things that are fried, anyone with Celiac should check if it’s a shared fryer. The staff was helpful and willing to ask the kitchen about ingredients if I had questions.
My mom is in a wheelchair right now after breaking her leg and I was happy that the restaurant has handicapped parking, several ramps, and a wheelchair accessible bathroom. It was also easy for my mom to wheel around the restaurant to the front to the table (not all restaurants are good about this).

The food is delicious!!!! The server was really nice, but never refilled all of our drinks. We didn’t even get silverware right away. We asked another server walking by for them and he just smoked and walked away and didn’t even help us either. Despite that, the food was so good and the portions were huge!!!

Nice place
Nice staff
The food was good! The only thing is that I wish that they could add in the menu when something is spicy. Other than that a good place to go will come back! Maria was our server she was very sweet and attentive!.

We have visited a couple times now and really have enjoyed their food overall. Trying to eat keto, I ordered the Salmon special without rice and it was delicious with grilled veggies and salmon cooked perfectly. We also had the steak fajitas and my husband really enjoyed those as well. Service was quick and attentive. Parking can be limited but we lucked out this time. We will be back next time we’re in this part of Houston.
