Mole Mexican Kitchen in Palm Desert delivers a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The space strikes a thoughtful balance between modern elegance and comfortable charm, making it equally well-suited for a relaxed lunch or an unhurried evening out. From the moment you’re seated, the ambiance encourages you to slow down and enjoy the experience rather than rush through a meal.
The cuisine sets Mole apart from typical Mexican restaurants, offering an atypical approach that blends Mexican and broader Latin American influences. Traditional flavors are respected but presented with creativity and refinement, resulting in dishes that feel both familiar and refreshingly different. Each plate reflects careful attention to ingredients, balance, and presentation, making the menu interesting even for diners who think they already “know” Mexican food.
Service at Mole Mexican Kitchen is consistently excellent, attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. The staff is well-prepared to guide guests through the menu and, notably, the vast wine selection. The impressive variety of wines complements the bold flavors of the cuisine beautifully, elevating the entire dining experience and reinforcing Mole’s reputation as a standout destination in Palm Desert.

This place absolutely exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere is quant and sophisticated with a hint of sexy. The staff were so nice (Robert and Brandon we thank you for the great service and for being so accommodating). But hands down the start of the show was the food. We came at Happy Hour and shared some appetizers. We also enjoyed Their Ceviche Mixto Verde (not on the happy hour menu but a MUST try for sure). Candra Danny and I thank you for suggesting we try your place out and for being a wonderful host. We will absolutely be back EVERY time we are in town. Below are some pics of what we had…. Crab & Gauc, Ceviche Mixto Verde, and The Beef Taquitos.. (which are hands down, the BEST taquitos I have ever had!!

As a fan of Mole, I thought their mole was scrumptious. I had the vegetarian enchiladas with the dark mole instead of the green mole, which was on the menu. My partner had the beef enchiladas with a side of rice and beans. It was a lot of food and all very good. We also had a side of the chips and salsa. No room for dessert.

Best Mexican restaurant in the Coachella Valley. First, the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. Their margaritas are on the sweeter side which we like. We strongly suggest the Tamarindo and Roasted Beef Bone Marrow to start.

I’m visiting for a week and my husband and I drove very late by El Paseo and noticed this restaurant Mole decided to eat here instead of other place I am glad we did because the food and drinks were very good. We ordered The chips with salsa, the Mole chicken Enchiladas, my husband ordered the skirt steak with patatas bravas. Everything was delicious. Thank you guys

Absolutely delicious food. We ordered the ceviche verde appetizer which was light and delicious. The tortilla chips were fantastic and freshly made. For mains, we ordered the carne asada and chicken huaraches which might have been the best Mexican dish I’ve ever eaten. We will definitely be back!

Mexican food with a twist. Flavorful and pleasantly served. It was my first time here, but my guests had been to Mole in Sedona. We each had something different and then sampled each other’s plates. It was fun, and the food was good. The cornbread was pretty dry, though. The blood orange margarita was pretty tasty, too. Lively atmosphere, a little pricey, but a nice night out.

Great food, atmosphere and service. We came for dinner on a Friday night and have zero complaints. The margaritas were so pretty and tasted great. The guacamole trio was incredible! The chips they have are homemade and fresh with great seasoning. None of us could stop eating them. We all ordered enchiladas and loved them! Definitely will be back next time I’m in town.

Exceptional Dining Experience at MOLE of El Paseo
MOLE of El Paseo delivered a truly superior and professional dining experience in every respect. From the thoughtful food preparation and beautiful presentation to the outstanding quality and welcoming atmosphere, nothing missed the mark.
Most notably, the service provided by our waiter, Joseph, was impeccable. His attentiveness, knowledge, and professionalism never wavered and significantly elevated our evening. Service at this level is increasingly rare and deeply appreciated.
My groom of 38 years and I have been visiting the Palm Desert area for over 40 years, and we can confidently say this experience ranks among the very best we’ve had. MOLE of El Paseo sets a high standard for excellence, and we look forward to returning.
Highly recommended.

Even with a long standing 6pm reservation, we got a booth by the kitchen with no view of the restaurant. Although it was quiet, it lacked atmosphere and servers coming/going was distracting.
We loved our crab guac with great chips, and the margaritas were super. Hubby loved his snapper, the others had mole enchiladas. There was a snafu on the server’s part, so one order came late. Overall, a very nice dinner but I’d not accept a table in the back next time.
