I got a regular plate of toro and spicy miso broth. The meat comes already seasoned with some sauce and garlic paste which I’m not a huge fan of. You pay additional for the broth you want, each is different pricing.

They do have spicy drops which was nice because I love my food spicy. Price was decent for the amount of meat provided. Food is cooked on a portable stove which is a little high. They don’t have any ladle or tongs to scoop out veggies or broth. Nor do they have additional toppings on the side to add to your broth or sauces.

This place was decent but I have my go to hot pot spots that I personally think are a better bang for your buck.

We were in the area and craving for Shabu Shabu. Stopped by between meal hour so there were no wait.
We ordered the beef sampler for two with spicy sukiyaki and spicy pork base. Also a Makkoji cut with spicy miso base. I personally like the spicy sukiyaki base.
The entire time we were eating there was a lot of white noise, which I think is coming from their vent system. I would strongly suggest the owner to fix it soon.

The hotpot and appetizers were quite delicious. It is also nice that the restaurant provides outdoor seating. Furthermore, they offer complimentary refills for the vegetables. One minus point was the extended wait time for the food, and it was a bit challenging to get the server’s attention, even though the restaurant was not very busy.

Very disappointed with this location. The meat portions were noticeably smaller than what I’m used to at the Cypress location – felt skimpy and not worth the price. Service was practically nonexistent; we barely saw our server after the food arrived.
The Cypress location has always been excellent with generous portions and attentive staff, so I was shocked by the drop in quality here. Sadly, I won’t be returning to this one. Hope management can turn things around.

The location is a bit smaller and located in a plaza. The meat is definitely a higher quality than you would get at AYCE, but it’s a little expensive. Our bill was like $120 for two people and we got three plates of meat. You could probably spend less and get fewer items, but you’d probably leave hungry. We started with the toro and pork belly combination. Our server recommended that we order more food, and she was right. We were still hungry. So we also got a large portion (14 pieces) of toro and an add on portion of Zabuton. The toro is hands down the best thing that we had. I wasn’t particularly too impressed by the Zabuton. It was tender and buttery, but I feel like I’ve had better. I wouldn’t get it again and would definitely not spring for the full size. They were also out of a bunch of stuff when we went. No fish balls with roe, no glass noodles, I can’t even remember everything they were out of because she listed like 5-6 things. I was very disappointed because the fish balls with roe are my favorite thing to get at hot pot. At the very least, our server was very attentive and helpful. But I think I would prefer going to AYCE over this experience.

Meat quality is good, similar to its two other locations (Irvine and Costa Mesa). Good customer service.

Spacious, clean, and they have the outdoor/patio seating for larger groups.

The only downside is they use the share/divided pot on a portable gas stove vs. electric tabletop one.

Craving for hotpot so found a joint 45 mins away from the Desert Hills outlet enroute to the hotel. Man, so good, especially when having hotpot during cold weather. But think we ordered too much meat. This was fatty belly and ribeye cut from premium black angus beef. This makes for another perfect day!

I will break down 3 parts, meat, soup, and dipping sauce.

-I ordered 24-pieces (Large size) marinated Flat Iron steak but I do recommend the beef belly as the fat make it taste better unless you prefer lean meat. You have to asked them to get the marinated meat because your soup gonna taste freaking good at the end after you dipped all the meat and marinated sauce in it. The 24 pieces-serving wasn’t enough for me even though I ate all the Udon as well so I ate my sister’s meat serving as well. So if you go alone then get more than Large size if you know you eat a lot. If you go with ladies then just order large sizes for all because the ladies are most likely won’t be able to eat all of their meats.

-Soup I suggest Spicy Miso soup because the Miso or original is very bland/plain. I think you don’t have to spend additional dollars to get other soup because spicy miso with the marinated meat is good enough. I used Udon as they ran out of rice.

-For dipping sauce, you HAVE to ask the waiter to give you at least 1 drop of their hot sauce into the sesame sauce then add some black sauce (I think it’s ponzu) that they gave it to you with the sesame sauce then mix everything on the sesame sauce bowl. If you can’t eat spicy at all then don’t add it. If you prefer spicy then add more than 1 drop because it’s super super spicy so anything above 3 drops might be bad for your health and stomach, in my opinion. Without their hot sauce the dipping sauce is not that good in my opinion.
-Price: We went for 3 people and it was $89 total not counting tips yet so I would say the price was decent as we all so full after that. I put price range $30-50 because with the tips it was over $30 for us. Overall definitely recommend it!

I love the meats and side dishes of this place but not the soup base.

The soup base was too bland for me, but I will return someday because of their high quality meat.
