Disappointing hospitality during a much-needed stop
My husband and I were on a motorcycle trip from North Vancouver to Fidalgo Island, and we were excited to find Moka Joe Coffee House as a cozy-looking spot to rest and recharge.
Before ordering, we simply asked to use the restroom after a long journey, but were told we could only have the key after placing an order. This felt surprisingly unwelcoming especially in such a quiet location where one might expect a bit more hospitality. As world travelers who have been on the road for over 60,000 km, this is not something we’ve encountered even in busier, high-traffic areas.
We left disappointed, as this policy and the way it was communicated felt disrespectful. I hope the management considers a more flexible, friendly approach toward travelers and visitors in the future.

Ordered the burrito which was about $15. once I opened it up I realized there was about a quarter of the burrito actually filled, while half of the tortilla was just wrapped around itself multiple times.

Used to love this place. Coffee is still fantastic, to be clear. Unfortunately though, almost every time I am there it takes 30 minutes to get two drinks. They also repeatedly put too much milk in my Americano, which is not the end of the world, but with how expensive their drinks are, it’s pretty annoying.

The employees are always friendly, polite, and courteous. The coffee house is always clean and neat. Prices are fair and better than most coffee chain franchises. I love coming here, the coffee is always on point and the food is always wonderful. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the Anacortes area.

OVERPRICED and UNDERSIZED!!!! Bought a $12 breakfast burrito. RIP-OFF!! Super small, hardly any fillings, and smashed flat. Do NOT recommend. You are better off going across the street to the gas station and spending $4 for a burrito that’s 2xs as big and 1/3 the price…..

Amazing service and good and atmosphere, I loved their coffee bean selection and I bought a bit of the shackeltons stout dark roast for my cold brew!
I also ordered the cold brew 8oz latte and it was amazing!

Every single time I come through this establishment their customer service gets worse, the wait gets longer and the actual goods they serve are trash. As a fellow barista, it is astonishing they let their employees act so bothered by taking orders and fulfilling them? It’s like they make your drink bad on purpose because it is always so off. Stay away from their San Juan breakfast sandwich- who the heck puts 3tbs of burger sauce on a breakfast sandwich? I had to discard it after one bite! Just shameful that this seems to happen every single time I try to give them another chance. Learned my lesson- hoping others don’t have to.
