Decent food. I ordered a vegetable biryani and dal tadka – its chana dal cooked well with some ghee and cumin tempering. Owner was kind enough to offer free onions and green chillies that most indian restaurants in europe charge for.

In an age of trendily designed restaurants and bars, sometimes it’s refreshing to experience the old school and Moharaj doesn’t disappoint. The lived in decor belies the quality of the food being served in a simple and unfussy way. The prawn madras curry sauce was really, really good. So full of flavours. And the prawns were chunky with fluffy basmati rice. The complimentary lassi was a welcome, tasty and soothing antidote to the feisty picante in the curry. Friendly and attentive service too. And all for a good budget price. Will come again for sure

My partner and I loved this place. The onion bhaji was delicious and so was everything else we ordered – the prawn do pyaza was tender and flavorful, the beef madras was spicy and full of flavor and the dhal tadka was magnificent too.

The service was also fantastic. Loved being able to speak a bit of Bengali with the lads there 🙂

This is my second time visiting and again, I had a very pleasant experience.

The place is quite sincere, straight forward service, with good recommendations and nice personal.

The food is very tasty and offers a variety of different proteins, vegetarian food, and different levels of spiciness. I really loved the Lamb Madras!

Prices are very fare (probably one of the cheapest Indian restaurants in Madrid) while the quality is high. Value for money – 10/10.

Will be back to try other dishes!

When you walk into a restaurant and it’s packed, you know it’s got to be good! And it sure was! They start your dining experience off by bringing free pappadam with sauces to the table while you look over the menu, and end the meal with a free mango lassi (which is absolutely delicious!) I ordered the butter chicken and it was smooth, buttery, and very mild (if you’re looking for something that’s not spicy at all, it’s perfect!) I also had the pilau rice and cheese naan which were very tasty! Wonderful and friendly service and delicious food!

Probably the best Indian food in Spain.

We tried the palak paneer, dal tadka and chicken jalfrezi, on the hosts recommendation, and they were all fantastic and delicious. We asked for it to be Indian-level spice, and it was exactly that. The naans were crispy and the mango lassi was an amazing dessert.

Overall, excellent service and food, and we will come again.

An EXCELLENT Indian meal at Moharaj tonight. Honestly, amongst some of the best Indian I’ve had outside of India, and possibly within too.

EDIT: so nice, we went here twice. Two dinners in a row. We were in Madrid for a total of four nights, two dinners were here. A testament to how delicious the food is.

Nice place in the neighborhood. Chicken korma was too sweet for our taste. The waiter warned/informed us of that, but we thought it was just a touch of sweetness, however it was a little bit excessive. The service was just perfect, and our waiter didn’t let us leave without having the mango lassi (which was delicious).

The food here is so good with several vegan options, authentic, great portions and inexpensive with friendly people especially Kaimu. They even gave us complimentary mango lassi. I liked it so much on first visit that I went again. I highly recommend this restaurant

Ordered the classic butter chicken with garlic naan and rice – delicious. When we sat down they gave us an appetizer we didn’t expect which was a thin, crispy piece of bread and toppings – also delicious and fun. Without asking we received a drink for dessert which was again – delicious and just what I needed. Can’t go wrong with this place.
