I don’t always embark on a quest for the ultimate burrito, but when I do, I prefer the high-energy, salsa-saturated sanctuary known as Moe’s Southwest Grill. From the moment you cross the threshold, you are greeted by a thunderous “Welcome to Moe’s!”—a vocal tradition so powerful and welcoming it makes every father in the building feel like he just successfully backed a trailer into a tight driveway on the first try. This establishment is a masterpiece of reliability, offering a customizable dining experience that functions with the precision of a well-oiled lawnmower on a Saturday morning.
The menu is a clever nod to pop culture, featuring the legendary Homewrecker burrito, which is a structural marvel of culinary engineering. It is packed with fresh ingredients and, most importantly, guacamole that doesn’t require a secondary mortgage to enjoy. The commitment to value is evident in the mountain of free chips provided with every meal, serving as the perfect crunchy vessel for their diverse salsa bar. Whether you prefer the mild “Poblano” or something with enough kick to jump-start a dead car battery, the variety ensures every palate is satisfied.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere radiates a specific kind of “cool dad” energy—vibrant, clean, and unpretentious. The queso is a liquid-gold investment in your own happiness, providing a consistent, creamy texture that anchors the entire meal. It is a place where entropy is kept at bay by organized assembly lines and a staff that genuinely seems to enjoy the chaos of a lunch rush. Choosing Moe’s is a smart, calculated move for anyone who values freshness, flavor, and a dining environment that celebrates the outlaw spirit of great Tex-Mex.
Stay salsa’d, my friends

As soon as you walked in you could tell the workers were not happy. It was 8:30 and there were 5-6 people in line on top of the people sitting down to eat. We sat down to eat around 8:40. Before we sat down the workers were yelling across the store at each other about how if certain things weren’t done that it was there fault even though they were busy until closing. Okay understandable, inappropriate but understandable. One worker in particular you could tell was not happy, she was cleaning the entire place, getting ready for close. Some people sat down at tables that had already been cleaned and pushed in because there wasn’t enough room (we did not). She came near us to clean a table that had already been cleaned and SLAMMED the table against the booths. My infant was in her car seat in booth next to where she slammed. She was just as startled as we were. I would’ve been able to ignore her ignorance if my child wasn’t sitting in the booth. Bottom line, emotions run high in the food service, but don’t take it out on the customers.

Understaffed, overwhelmed employees. They were doing their jobs just fine, but lord someone needs to come save them. Raw chicken sitting out on a tray. Store a mess. Won’t be coming back. Terrified people will get food poisoning. It’s unfortunate because moes used to be FANTASTIC. Prices high but low quality food.

We ordered delivery through the app. 2 out of our 3 items were wrong. After being on the phone for almost 10 minutes i was placed on hold atleast 3 times before a different person got on the phone and told me I have to complain to the delivery partner and not through them. Then why did I just waste 10 minutes on the phone with these people??? Maybe if they made the orders right to begin with these problems wouldn’t happen. I’d like to be contacted. If I am not, I will reach out to higher lead ship if necessary.

First, the staff did a fine job but they are stuck serving the food that Moe’s dictates. I haven’t been in a while and when I saw the Rational ovens I should have known it would be worse. These exist to dumb down the operation. No more grill or burners I guess. No more actual cooking. Now it’s steam roasting. Well the proof is in the lack of flavor development. The steak was definitely not worth upgrade. The peppers and onions seem to be precut and whatever firming agent or preservative really effects the flavor. This was once a better chain but now, not.

The steady decline, and now fall, of this chain has been years in the making, but seems to be pretty much done now.
To be clear, this review is about the entire business. This particular location was passable, but their corporate guidance is killing this company.
I remember when Moe’s used to be a staple in my home, and when my wife worked there. Back then the company had charm to stand out from its competitors and decent food for price.
It started with their ground beef. It went from above average to a greasy over-seasoned mess that tastes like Taco Bell. I prefer beef any time, but could not stomach it for the last 5 years at least.
Prices rose while quality dipped.
Then they took the old serving sizes and plastic bowls and reduced them by at least a third while raising prices again.
I hadn’t had Moe’s for more than a year before this week, but I made the mistake of going back.
Now, the once quirky charm of the chain has been replaced by just another lifeless stainless steel design. The classic calling of “welcome to Moe’s” worked to set a tone of fun. Now the workers clearly have no enthusiasm for the job.
Portions have dramatically shrunk again. The kid’s burrito I ordered had literally 5 little pieces of chicken in it and left my 3 year old hungry, but costs more than ever. I asked for some extra lettuce in my bowl (pictured) and this was taken as providing less than would be used as a garnish. Now there are a third less options to add to the food. How are you saving any money by cutting out cucumber and corn pico? Even the chip portions have shrunk.
Perhaps they think the American people are bad at math, but when you advertise something with “double the steak” and queso as part of it, but the nutritional information shows it has less than 100 calories more than the standard, you’re either lying about it being double anything or you are telling everyone how small the actual portion of steak is in the first place.
I literally paid $5 more the week before to go to an actual Mexican restaurant (not “quick service” like this) the week before, but got larger portions and much better quality. Oh, and I paid for drinks at the other place, so the food was actually cheaper with that taken into account.
Once upon a time, this was a good company.
Now, it is not worth the visit.
Go get real Mexican anywhere else. This one needs to be allowed to die, and maybe a better chain will come along and replace it.

Fresh food matters and I will be asking for a refund. The burrito was delivered to me and thrown everything together carelessly. I don’t eat chicken but this looks like chicken. No it’s old dry tofu. This is not the first time either

Good food and quick service. Had a new guy training and he accidentally put my burrito on the grill thinking it was an enchilada. It did mess up the flavor of the guacamole but no hard feelings. I would still come back. The steak burrito bowl was fantastic.

I use to eat at Moe’s a lot. We haven’t had it in a while bc the last time it was just blah. Today for some reason my husband asked me to stop and pick up a to go order. He really wanted Moe’s. We had a rather large order and the place was packed, but the staff was very friendly. The one on the register was new and trying to keep up but seemed to be overwhelmed. The food looks good, but was just blah. The steak burrito (homewrecker) wasn’t good. The steak didnt have flavor and the black beans were very mushy. I wish it was better but I feel the taste has went down hill. If I am going to pay $40 for take out again I will make a trip to Greenville and get chipotle from now on.

Ordered tacos online and this was what I received. Two tacos missing all of their ingredients, including the guacamole I paid extra for. Not only that but the third taco was half way made. Really wish I could say it was good food, but I guess I will never know.
