Reviews
If you look at 90% of the most recent reviews for this establishment you’ll see that they’re overwhelmingly negative and rightfully so. This Moe’s location has a few issues but the one that’s most alarming to me is the behavior of its owner Ed. I’ve lived in Fairfax for years and have rarely met such arrogant people but this man takes the cake. The only way he won’t be rude to a customer is if they are ordering lots and putting money into his pocket and even then he might still get rude with you at the register. I’ve come to this location many times and have dealt with Ed on numerous occasions but after my most recent I am inclined to stay away. I was ordering a couple burritos and my server was a young kid. He was very friendly and accommodating so I tried to tip him at the register but not using the screen as I know from a previous visit that employees don’t receive the tips from the Jar or system. So I hand this kid a $20 when he comes to the salsa bar and Ed watches like a creep from the hallway of the bathroom. Afterwards I hear him giving this kid a lecture in the kitchen about not accepting tips and immediately putting them in the jar even though I gave it to him personally after I got my order. Ed hammers on this poor guy while the other employees stay quiet in fear. This is not how you run an establishment Ed and you should be ashamed of yourself for constantly berating your employees. Like I said this isn’t the first time I have witnessed your horrid behavior but hopefully it’s my last. You know I’m a Jewish man yet I fully believe Ed is more deserving of the greedy stereotype.
My overall message to Fairfax residents is that when you’re in the Fairfax Blvd area you avoid Moe’s Southwest Grill because you’re supporting a vile man who demeans those who work for him and those he views as not worth his time and kindness!
Beware of food poisoning and poor food handling!!
I arrived around Friday Jan 16 at 8:15pm, and despite the restaurant supposedly being open until 9:00pm, it already felt like they were shutting down for the night. Staff appeared rushed and disengaged, and the food on the line looked suspect, particularly the vegetables and steak.
I ordered a steak stack, but while ordering I had serious doubts about the freshness and temperature of the ingredients. Given how early they seemed to be closing down, I’m not confident that proper food safety and holding protocols were being followed.
Unfortunately, after eating, I became severely ill with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. This was not a minor issue as it made me ill and significantly disrupted my plans and required a full weekend of recovery.
This experience raises real concerns about food handling and safety standards at this location, especially late in the evening. I strongly urge management to review closing procedures and food preservation practices.
I would caution others about dining here.
Kept driving by this place on my way to the gym and they were never officially open. Finally got to lay my hands on a bowl of spicy adobo chicken and it was very delicious. Upon entering all the staff greeted us and were very kind through out the whole process. The seating and tables were very clean and the place is beautiful with a nice view. And to my surprise kids eat free Sundays?! Unfortunately ate my food to quick before taking pictures Would definitely recommend for a quick cheap bite.
The food quality was also disappointing. What I received did not taste fresh, and some items seemed stale based on my experience. Overall, the food and service did not meet expectations.
Because of these issues, I would not recommend this restaurant.
