I went there and had a catfish dinner. It was good. I got two sides with cornbread. The baked beans were really good. They were sweet and spicy without being too hot. Potato salad appeared to be from scratch with a lot of colors but kind of had a watery flavor. The cornbread was sweet I thought I tasted hints of jalapeno. It was heated on the flat iron and toasted in butter. Which I like very much. The catfish didn’t taste muddy but the breading didn’t have much flavor either.

My husband and I have heard great things about Moe’s and tried it out for Valentine’s Day. Atmosphere is great and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! They assisted with all my questions and I even saw them help customers carry large orders out to their car as well.
From previous reviews, I was nervous as the menu was a tad confusing compared to photos I saw however they were happy to assist with any changes I wanted to make or additions I requested.
My husband and I ordered the family deal for 3-4 people. We requested half chicken and half pork and got mac & cheese and hush puppies on the side with cornbread included.
Portioning is a mixed review. I think the amount is sides is great however the meat amounts were pretty small. The meal itself is little expensive for the amount of meat we got. Both types of meat were pretty mild in flavor and I found the pulled pork too strong in vinegar flavor.
The bread sides are my all time favorite! If I went here again, 100% I would get the hush puppies and cornbread.
Overall I would rate Moe’s a 4/5. The atmosphere and service brings this rating up. Without that, I would say this place is more of a 2 due to the cost and flavors.

OMG how have I not been here before?!?!! I have seen all the recommendations just haven’t been in that area when it’s time to grub. Those smoked wings were flash fried to perfection and went perfect with some buffalo dipping sauce! My buddy and I also shared the pulled pork nacho platter and we were both stuffed and overly satisfied with our meal! They also had a great selection in draught that I wasn’t expecting.

I’ve been driving by Moe’s since I moved here in 2022. I finally stopped. It was okay. I guess it’s Alabama type barbeque. I had a lot of questions and the bartender seemed like my questions annoyed her – or didn’t really want to answer. I ordered To Go:
1/2 lb barbeque (way too much)
Side of ribs (two ribs)
Sides:
Fried Green Tomatoes
Slaw (told it was not cream slaw and more vinegar – which it wasn’t)
Potato salad – told mayo & mustard base with a bunch of vegetables.
Banana Pudding – okay.
I didn’t Love any of it.
Meat was just okay.
Slaw was dry and basically just cabbage.
Potato salad was terrible. I added mayo & lil mustard at home. It became edible.
Fried Green tomatos were okay.
The pickle were great.
I won’t get food from there again.
The young man behind the counter had customer service skills.
The female bartender should brush up on basic customer skills. Like when to say Thank You or can I get you anything else or come again or would like another drink – those things.

New favorite place to eat when we visit our kid at UNCW. The BBQ was on point, the shrimp was great, my youngest said the banana pudding was the best dessert she ever had.
Saw the MerleFest poster and it felt like home for this Wilkes county guy, the live music was great. I will be back next time I am in the Wilmington area.

So happy we stopped here. We needed something quick before going out (not from the area), just googled restaurants near me and BBQ sounded like a decent, quick option. This was brought out within 5 mins of ordered, and everything was excellent (especially the cornbread, different style than I’ve ever had before and I LOVED it). The atmosphere inside is a rustic and laid back vibe, bar and tv’s as well. Would certainly come back if in the area again.

Incredibly delicious food. I had smoked wings, fried green tomatoes and gumbo and my grandson had the fried catfish sandwich, potato salad and banana pudding. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had and I tried a bit of the potato salad and it had a unique flavor very reminiscent of German potatoe salad but not warm. The prices were reasonable, the service friendly and attentive. All in all it was a great dining experience. We got there at lunchtime on a Wednesday and the parking lot was full of pickup trucks so I told my grandson if you’re not sure if a restaurant has good food or not look for the number of trucks I’m the parking lot. Contractors and construction workers like to eat good food at a good price so a parking lot full of trucks is usually a good sign of great food. We were not disappointed. Will definitely be back.

Today was my second time eating at Moe’s. We went over for lunch. Previously, I had been there for dinner and it was fantastic.
At the urging of a good friend, we went and grabbed a bite of lunch there. He has been absolutely hooked on the wings. I think that he said that they are smoked and fried. What I can tell you for certain is that they were absolutely delicious. They were large wings, crispy on the outside but extremely tender on the inside. They had very minimal sauce and were not hot, but did have excellent flavor.
I got the potato salad for a side again, and it was also delicious.
The food came out quick, the service was terrific, and we were in and out of there fast. I would absolutely go back again and again!

I have been looking for a good wing place since COVID. The quality of many of my previous wing spots has seen quality decreases since then. This place is it. You don’t need all kinds of sauces. The wings are so good I could easily eat a plate plus some extra I ordered. The sides were also so good I felt like I was at a southern cookout. Definitely my new favorite place for BBQ and wings

This place is exactly what you want in a North Carolina BBQ spot. I asked a friend and he recommended this place. Now I recommend this place! Carolina pulled pork with the vinegar sauce was perfect. Not dry, not over smoked. The baked beans and potato salad stand on their own. Very delicious. I would go back once a week if I lived in Wilmington.
