We live about 10 minutes away from this restaurant, had never tried it before, and wanted to try the broasted chicken. We ordered the 12-piece dinner that came with 3 orders of broasted potatoes and one pint of coleslaw. We even ordered 1 extra order of broasted potatoes. Our total was $55, we picked it up and brought it home. While eating, I noticed one of my potato wedges seemed dark. I told my family, and we started looking at all of them. Almost every single potato wedge we received had dark and even BLACK spots! We couldn’t eat them. The other issue was the coleslaw. It was WARM, very thick and mayo-heavy. It was inedible. Suffice it to say, I’m glad the chicken was decent, but can’t say we’ll be ordering from here again, we would rather spend our money on food we can actually eat.

Amazing little diner! The food is some of the best around…like right outta my mom’s kitchen. Service is great. The home like atmosphere of the diner is like finding a rare gem. So many places are corporate ran. Not here…it feels and tastes like home.

This place closed an hour early. They saw me walking up to the door and locked it on me. No words… Nothing… Had the open sign in the window flashing as well. I would never go to this dive again. Looks like a thrift store building instead of a restaurant.

Wow!!! I can only hope this diner is here to stay!! The food is “down home,” from scratch..NOT processed. The staff is kind, the prices are beyond reasonable, and again, the food is AMAZING! FINALLY! A place that knows how to whip up biscuits and gravy with real milk, home-made biscuits, and shredded hash browns. And, the pie? Wow! I will return!! The Modoc Diner is one of the only restaurants that offer REAL, from scratch food!!! Thank you!!!

I’m only giving these 1 stars because google won’t let you leave ZERO stars which is what this diner deserves. I walked in and ask to order my food to go ( my first time there ever) . I waited 30 minutes or more asked about my food and she said she’d go see what was going on with it and she never came back. A guy who done a carryout order after I did got his food and left while I was still waiting so I walked out. Will not be returning if you’re not a regular customer I guess they could care less about serving you properly. So outsiders beware !!!!

We frequent the Modoc Diner whenever we’re able. Our whole family enjoys it. The atmosphere is refreshing as it’s not cookie cutter. We love the small town feel. The staff have always been so sweet! Not to mention, the food is spot on. Their tenderloins are my favorite, right next to the best bacon cheeseburger I’ve ever had! I highly recommend anyone that has an opportunity, check them out!

This is a local place and to be honest, isnt what it used to be. A lot of local farmers visit for lunch but its changed ownership and in my opinion the only reason its still open is they are the only game in town. There literally is nothing else. The food is ok at best and Linda the waitress was very friendly and really the highlight of the place. Whenever i have the opportunity i go elsewhere .

Has a very homey atmosphere, the waitress we had was amazing. The owner is also great! Food was fantastic and honestly there was so much food we had to take it home and eat it later! It is worth it to visit this small town diner!

I’m from Muncie, and I can’t help but gush about this dinner ! Every time I visit, the food is consistently prepared exactly how I like it, which is a win in my book. Their menu has a variety of tasty options that always leave me satisfied. From the friendly staff to the cozy atmosphere, it’s a great place to hang out and enjoy a meal. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed! ️ .
