One of the greatest restaurants I have been to. My wife invited me there on my birthday and I loved it! There was even a live band playing Jazz that day
The food was great especially the appetizers and the desserts.
The waiter George was really friendly. We even became friends with him and he offered us a dessert on the house!
Would definitely go back there this summer. I recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal or spending an evening around the Old Port

A long overdue review – October 2025
I have been to Montreal a few times with friends, but it was always a short trip and I didn’t have time to dine in. This time, I went with my sister, who is a first-timer in the city. We were only staying for a few days, but I made a list of restaurants to try. As we were walking around, we got hungry, and Modavie was on my list and close by. We didn’t make a reservation since we didn’t know when our activity would end, but it was after lunch, so I knew it might not be busy. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a lovely, gentle older man. He made us feel right at home.
The female server greeted us once we were seated, and she had such a calming aura. I asked for her recommendations for wine and followed her suggestion based on the meals I was having. My sister ordered their lunch five-meal special, and I ordered their specialty, which was the rack of lamb, with a cheese platter appetizer. The lamb was cooked to perfection and seasoned well—rich and tender! We loved the cheese platter as well. The foie gras was amazing; it melted in my mouth. On the other hand, my sister thought her main would be a salmon dish, but pasta was the main course, which she wanted to avoid since we had recently had pasta, but it was still alright! We ordered crème brûlée because I had read a glowing review about it. It was creamy and delicious!
This restaurant was our first stop and made a great impression with its food and service, so we were even more inspired to try many other restaurants in Quebec.

What a catch! Amazing vibe, a very lively Friday night with live music and lots of happy people clearly having a great time. Everyone was friendly and pleasant: the staff, the guests, the musicians.
The service was top-notch. Our waiter was trilingual and understood exactly how I wanted my steak cooked (which is rare!). The steak with salad and the risotto were outstanding! (The best steak I’ve had in many years).
The place was super crowded, which only confirms how good it is, and we were lucky to get a table without a reservation as we got there early. I’d absolutely love to come back!

Service was friendly and ambiance was nice. Bread was fresh and butter was good. Jazz music was played live as we ate our tuna tartare, cod and rice with lobster bisque, steak and fries and crème brûlée Street parking with meters.

We went as a party of 4 for new years eve. The location is great and the atmosphere upstairs was very well done with the live jazz singer and the double bass player. The music was not overwhelmingly loud and complemented the experience in an elegant way. We found the service to be excellent. So kudos to the waiter that served us. We had a 5 course dinner with the wine pairing. I didn’t find the wine really complemented the flavors of each dish so can’t say whether or not a sommelier was involved in the selections. The dishes were good but not outstanding. I could not say that I found myself weak in the knees on first bite of each dish as I had hoped. The food was ok, I still finished everything on my plate. Overall I found the prices was fairly for the quality but nothing outstanding that would entice me to return.

Amazing service and food! Everything was extremely delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was great, and | loved the fresh buns served before the meal. I honestly didn’t find anything negative and loved every bite. The only thing to note is that the menu isn’t very kid-friendly, with limited options for children.

We truly missed real European food especially French cuisine, then we found this place while visiting Montreal. We couldn’t be more satisfied. The food in this place is magnificent. We had Foie Gras and Beef Tartare as appetizes then Confit Canard and Lamb chops.
They happened to have live band also and we could enjoy it although it was only for limited time to due availability of our table.

The tartare de saumon was incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. The lamb chops and filet mignon were both cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
For dessert, the warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and the cheesecake were the perfect ending — rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious.
Elegant ambiance, attentive service, and a great spot for a date night or special occasion.
Will definitely be back.

I knew he did it on purpose, the way he acted made it so funny
Also, the couple at the table next to us asked him if they could move to a larger table
It’s understandable because their space between our table and the window looked quite small
Then, he said “We do have a larger table, but it’s expensive Are you okay with that?”
We realized he was lying in a good way because if he had simply said “Sure!”, we would have felt it was unfair and probably would have wanted to change tables too

We had a lovely dinner at this charming French restaurant. We ordered the house salad, onion soup, and rack of lamb. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The lamb was a bit more cooked than I would have preferred, but it was still flavorful.
Service was friendly and attentive. We were seated in the room next to the live music, which was perfect — we could enjoy the ambiance while still having an easy conversation. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I’d happily recommend.
