This was my 1st visit & I was impressed with their system. There was a decent line but my pizza was done by the time I paid. They could improve on their toppings though. Having Jalapeno peppers as the only “pepper product” sucks. I like Banana Peppers on my pizza too! Also, for some reason they didn’t have Ice for their fountain drinks which I thought was strange.

• We arrived 2 minutes after the “promise time” to find one door locked without signage or personnel to direct us to the other door. We then noticed someone on their computer inside and moved to the other door. We then entered, unacknowledged by the person on the computer or the “attendant” behind the counter on her phone (who disappeared into the kitchen shortly thereafter). We eventually found our pizza at the pickup area and left to a “have a good evening” from the person on her computer (who previously disregarded us, so as out-of-towners we weren’t positive whether she was on-duty staff, off-duty staff, or a patron).
• When we got home just ten minutes later, the pizza was cold, so we had to warm it in our oven.
BOTTOM LINE
• Despite the pickup snafu and having to re-bake our pizza, both generally minor nuisances, the core product was a great value with strong quality. It’s difficult to find an allergy-friendly crust, especially one that can handle many toppings without flopping over constantly, so I would retry MOD Pizza over similar options in the future.

We decided to try out MOD Pizza in Asheville for an early dinner. Our pizza was great and the ingredients were exactly as we chose. It was hot and fresh from the oven. At the time we were there it was quiet and clean.

We called several other local pizza places asking about wait times for a party of 11, each one rude and short on the phone. Down the street from where we were was MOD. We arrived with 5 grandkids and 6 adults, the staff was incredibly patient, friendly and accommodating. Let me tell you how fun it was for everyone to order what they wanted and how they wanted it. The manager even allowed our grandkids to open a few Christmas gifts, he brought us a trash can with a smile. So kind, so friendly, the pizza was great. 11 clean plates and happy hearts. MOD pizza on Merrimon Ave, made our get together GREAT. Thank you MOD, we’ll be back. This was a 10 out of 10 experience.

Anna working alone rocked our four pizzas. Love ours at home and may love this one even better due to the wonderful shade and greenery around the patio tables. Ours at home nothing but cement so only umbrella shade (but still fabulous pizza). We had the nicest breeze. Always love that everyone can get their own uniquely made pizza with such a variety of ingredients for a really reasonable price. *Wish we had been asked about the kids being students bc I had been driving over 4 1/2 hours to get here and hadn’t gotten to even check emails so didn’t realize its bogo student/teacher week (app wouldn’t load so couldn’t see it there either even though we’re loyalty members) and all four of us qualify. Maybe next time.

Usually, the dipping sauce for the bread sticks is in the box with the bread sticks. So when I checked the box, and saw no pesto sauce, I politely asked the person behind the counter if the cheesesticks came with dipping sauce. That person looked at my like I was a complete idiot and said “Yea, it’s in the bag.” Their tone was unnecessarily rude.
The food is often barely acceptable, but it’s close to home so we keep going back.

I requested extra portions for the salad, extra chicken, tomatoes and there was barely any. There was barely any Feta (which I requested regular). It was so disappointing that it felt like a waste of money. Everything I ordered was regular and everything was light. I almost wanted to call for a refund but I didn’t have the time today (why I ordered online). I even checked the receipt and it said that I requested extra. What gives??? Ordering online works best for me but not if my request are ignored. It’s one reason I like this restaurant, the price for unlimited toppings. Not okay.
