Pub fare such as BBQ & burgers complement house-brewed beer at a lively haunt with an on-site inn.

Stopped by MOAT Mountain Moat Mountain Smoke House & Brewing Co. in North Conway, NH for a couple pints & a 20oz pour of something seasonal to kick off October. My first time here in a few years I was definitely due to return & check it out for my page. I remember getting a eight piece flight & a BBQ platter last visit, which was all sooo damn good. The place was bumping with the patio completely full & a busy dining room, luckily I was able to score a couple seats at the bar. This place has been in operation since 2000, making it the states oldest Brewpub going over twenty-five years now. I recently had their VALLEY PASTIME IPA during a tasting which was really good & have always been a huge fan of the blueberry fruit beer so I was looking forward to scooping one of those right from the tit. There was a good selection of styles on including lagers, pilsners, browns, IPA’s & more, but I went mostly festive with my three beers this visit. ☘
I started off with a pint of the OPA’S OKTOBERFEST Marzen which was a above average, sweet Marzen that was super easy drinking. My second pint was the delicious MS V’S BLUEBERRY Fruit Beer, a favorite of mine anytime I’ve had it over the years. My third beer of the visit was a 20oz pour of the excellent OMA’S FEST BIER Marzen which was awesome & had a great smooth caramel finish, my favorite of the two seasonal beers I had.
The restaurant is really large inside with multiple dining rooms & a decently sized bar. There is all the seating options inside with tables, hightops, bar seating & a good size patio area outside. The staff at the bar were all really friendly & I ran into a couple regulars from my previous serving job in Manchester, NH a year or so ago which was nice. The decor inside is fun to look at & there is plenty on the walls to check out. The parking lot was packed, but was big enough to still have no problem getting a spot. There was plenty of beer to go for home or tastings with friends later. Overall a great return trip & I’m sure I’ll be making my way back in a few years hopefully for some of that bomb BBQ & more new beers. Cheers! ☘ ✌♥️

The combo platter was a masterpiece. Perfect for splitting with a loved one or 1 hungry individual! lol. The Ms. V Blueberry beer was great with the BBQ.
The cheese curds were good. Lacked flavor and so did the goat cheese sauce but nothing their house made buffalo sauce couldn’t make better!

Great place for dining and for discovering awesome craft beers. I was getting serious FOMO from the massive beer list; I wanted to try them all! I decided to go for the Scottie’s IPA and did not regret it + even took home a four pack. Our waiter Buzz deserves a special mention: he was always very friendly and helpful and jolly. We were looking for healthy options to dine with and we were not disappointed. Highly recommend the spinach salad, flatbread with hummus and veggies and especially the Brussels sprouts!

We had a great experience at Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewing Co. Our server, Buzz B., was friendly and attentive, which made the meal even better. We started with the BBQ chicken wings and pulled pork sliders—both packed with flavor—and the Cajun fries were the perfect side. My husband ordered the meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and squash, a dish that’s been highlighted in reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. Highly recommend!

Amazing Food and Plenty to Go Around!
We ordered the Super Bowl BBQ dinner from the Moat and it was amazing! Everything was smoky, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were incredibly generous, too! We had more than enough to share, plus leftovers for two more meals. You definitely get your money’s worth here.
If you’re looking for delicious BBQ and great value, Moat Mountain absolutely delivers. We love visiting the bar, but will definitely be ordering again next year!

We have been to this restaurant many times and I am only just now getting around to a review, my bad! Because this place is fabulous! We come to the mountains a few times throughout the year, and this is one of our go to dining spots. The majority of their food is made from scratch and their brews are amazing. Plus, you can take it to go! We almost always come with a large group of 8 or 12 and many times we are lucky enough to get one of the private rooms. Wait staff is incredible, huge shout out to our waitress Sky that was on top of it for our entire visit, despite us having 7 kids under the age of 13. Literally everything we order is delicious. Vibe is NH Mountains casual with positive feels. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience for lunch! We ordered one of the special sandwiches (fried bologna!), the Thai Chicken Pizza, and the brisket sandwich. All were great! The Thai chicken pizza was especially wonderful! We also had one brew which was good as well (Ms. V’s Blueberry). Our server TATE was great, and very knowledgeable about the area. He suggested things to do, and was genuinely welcoming! We would be here all the time if we lived here!! We sat outside which was very nice! Restrooms were clean!

Moat is a staple after a day of skiing on our yearly trip. Can’t go wrong with the beers on tap, nachos, burgers, Cajun fries, and brisket sandwich. Recently, after having dinner, I managed to leave my wallet on the table, something I never do. The next day I was distraught not knowing where my license and cards were, so I coped by throwing myself some black diamond trails. When I was able to reach Moat the following day, I spoke with Sherry who had my wallet safe and sound in her office. She mailed it to me with everything in tact. I wanted to thank her for her time and honesty but she just asked for me to pay it forward to someone else. Thank you for being a great person, Sherry. Moat-come for the food, stay for the people.
