Reviews
It’s a small intimate place but very clean and colorful. Nice sayings on the walls, pictures and good backgrounds for the Gram. We were welcomed warmly and the owners and staff were so friendly.
We got the CZ Trash burger, Dirty fries and Cajun corn in a cup. The burger and fries were made fresh and were delicious! I’d recommend eating it as soon as it’s made and there’s a bit of a wait coz they make it when you order it!
The corn didn’t wow me…it came in a really tiny cup (for $5+ I was hoping for a more decent portion size) and it lacked a good flavor profile!
But I would definitely come back and will try other options on their menu. Will post more pics when I do.
I got the Peach Glaze Chicken Strips and Bottled Tea (Not Pictured) and my goodness! It was amazing. I had never had something like that before. Food is prepared fresh upon order so it will be HOT and just right.
I will definitely be back and for any one seeing this review, gone on and pull up. You won’t be disappointed at all.
Being from St. Louis, you grow up with a very specific food compass. You know good Italian—real Italian—from The Hill, and you know soulful, seasoned Black American cooking that feeds more than just your stomach. MO City Eatz somehow manages to bring both worlds together, and it feels natural, not forced—like something that’s always belonged here.
From the first bite, the food carries that St. Louis confidence: bold, comforting, and made with intention.
Shrimp Po’ Boy & Fries
The Shrimp Po’ Boy hits that perfect balance between crispy and tender. The shrimp are seasoned deep—not just on the surface—and fried just right, giving you that crunch without drowning out the freshness of the seafood. The bread is soft but sturdy, holding everything together like it’s supposed to. It’s Southern-inspired, but the flavor profile is elevated—almost like a coastal dish filtered through Midwest soul.
The fries? Golden, hot, and properly seasoned. No afterthoughts here.
Hot Lemon Peppa Wings & Fries
These wings are a standout. The Hot Lemon Peppa flavor punches you first with heat, then pulls you back in with that citrusy tang that keeps you reaching for another wing. They’re juicy on the inside with a crisp skin that actually holds the sauce—no soggy business.
This is where that Black American influence really shines. Bold, unapologetic flavor that feels like it came straight from the community—done right, with pride.
St. Louis Toasted Ravioli
If you’re from St. Louis, you don’t play about toasted ravioli—and MO City Eatz clearly understands the assignment. These ravs are crispy, well-seasoned, and taste like something you’d proudly serve next to any Hill classic. The filling is rich, the breading is light but crunchy, and every bite feels like a nod to the city’s deep Italian roots—fresh, comforting, and familiar.
It tastes like Italy took a stop in St. Louis and decided to stay.
House Drinks
The drinks deserve their own moment.
Muddy Water Tea is smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced—not too sweet, not watered down.
Zaria’s Lemonade tastes homemade in the best way: bright, tart, and refreshing, like summertime in the city.
Tropical Punch Kool-Aid is pure nostalgia. Sweet, vibrant, and exactly how Kool-Aid should taste—no corners cut.
Final Thoughts
MO City Eatz feels like St. Louis on a plate. It respects the city’s Italian legacy while embracing the seasoning, creativity, and heart of Black American cuisine. The food tastes fresh, intentional, and rooted—like it knows where it comes from.
This isn’t just a meal; it’s a cultural blend that makes sense for St. Louis. If you’re looking for flavor that feels like home but still surprises you, MO City Eatz is absolutely worth the stop.
Service 5 stars: the folks here at this local eatery are very welcoming and nice. I brought my mom in who doesn’t drive much as I wanted her to see that there are some local options that are close by. We were both greeted warmly and felt right at home.
Atmosphere 5 stars: this is a small intimate place. There are probably about 10 tables to dine in. Lots of cute sayings on the walls and “instagramable” backgrounds. It was clean and a nice atmosphere.
This is a great addition to the Mo. City area.
Manager was working hard cleaning tables and making sure everyone was serviced. Service was overall nice! Only disappointment was the food.
