The standout is the teriyaki chicken: perfectly tender, lightly charred around the edges, and generously glazed in a sauce that balances sweet, salty, and smoky without ever feeling heavy. Every bite is juicy, and the portion sizes are almost shockingly large, making it easy to share—or enjoy leftovers later. The teriyaki steak is equally impressive. Sliced thin but still full of beefy flavor, it’s grilled to an ideal texture and soaks up the house-made sauce beautifully. When you combine the chicken and steak on a mixed plate, you get the best of both worlds in a meal that feels both indulgent and comforting.
What really rounds out the experience is the traditional plate-lunch setup. The fluffy rice and creamy macaroni salad give the rich meats a perfect backdrop, offering the kind of balance that Hawaiians have perfected for decades. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared, never rushed, and always consistent.
My son got chicken and i got steak for the first time and it was REALLY good
Everytime we come here everybody is so energetic and we just get happy faces from their team.
I will definitely come back.
Gone down hill fast. Every piece of chicken burnt to a crisp and tough.
Good, but not the best. Walking in, you’re greeted by great staff with smiles and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. I had the Regular (2 meats option) teriyaki chicken and teriyaki steak (+$2 small portion), which was good, but both were sort of bland and dry without the added sauce. This came with 2 small scoops of rice and a scoop of the macaroni salad, which were ok. Family ordered katsu chicken, teriyaki chicken, and kalua pig. They liked it. None of the meals come with a drink so for me and a total family of 5 paying almost $17 a plate for very controlled portions with no drinks and food thats just okay isn’t worth it. Yes, it’s new to the area and a refreshing break from burgers and bland tex-mex, but I’ve made better at home for less. It was a nice experience, but didn’t blow my mind. Parking is very limited and apparently tricky for most as there were almost 2 fender benders as folks tried to maneuver around each other just in the time we sat down to eat. If you’ve got a coupon or really like chicken options this would be a great place for a quick but slightly pricey meal.
Last night, we ordered the finau favorite with teriyaki chicken and teriyaki steak. Flavor-wise, both were on point—tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. Our usual sides are white or brown rice, macaroni salad (which I always ask for separately), and cabbage. We requested extra cabbage, but when we got home, there was no cabbage in the box. We also requested brown rice, and unfortunately it wasn’t fully cooked. On top of that, the meat wasn’t hot or even warm—it was basically cold.
Since this was unusual for them, we called and spoke with the manager on duty, Nathan. He immediately apologized for the inconvenience and acknowledged that our order was not made correctly, including the undercooked rice and the food being cold. Nathan was very polite, understanding, and professional. He told us to come back either that same day or anytime, and they would make it right.
Since that visit, I’ve been back two more times and received extremely great service, so it may have just been an off night with one employee. I haven’t seen her since, and everything has been great.
Thank you, Nathan, for going above and beyond and handling the situation so well. We look forward to continuing to enjoy great food and good service here in the future!
