Mo’ Bettahs delivers the kind of comfort food that makes you instantly understand why Hawaiian plate lunches have such a devoted following. From the moment your order hits the table—or the takeout bag—the aroma of grilled meats and sweet-savory sauces promises something satisfying, and the food absolutely delivers.

The standout is the teriyaki chicken: perfectly tender, lightly charred around the edges, and generously glazed in a sauce that balances sweet, salty, and smoky without ever feeling heavy. Every bite is juicy, and the portion sizes are almost shockingly large, making it easy to share—or enjoy leftovers later. The teriyaki steak is equally impressive. Sliced thin but still full of beefy flavor, it’s grilled to an ideal texture and soaks up the house-made sauce beautifully. When you combine the chicken and steak on a mixed plate, you get the best of both worlds in a meal that feels both indulgent and comforting.

What really rounds out the experience is the traditional plate-lunch setup. The fluffy rice and creamy macaroni salad give the rich meats a perfect backdrop, offering the kind of balance that Hawaiians have perfected for decades. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared, never rushed, and always consistent.

Very clean restaurant! Reminds me of a chipotle with how you select your food, but Hawaiian style. They cook some of the items right when ordered, like the chicken katsu. The kids meal price is very reasonable considering they can choose from the same meats. While I was waiting for the food, a delivery person was waiting for a pickup and the cashier offered him some water, it was really nice to see that. Plus when they refilled the forks they were using a glove. Overall this was a fun and impressive stop for lunch.

This was my first experience with Mo Bertha, my Roomate and I got 2 different meals and split them! The favorite and the crispy chicken and beef the yeoba sauce is amazing! The meats were all great! The Mac salad had too much Mayo for me. I like salt and pepper and butter on my rice so I added that! Overall great experience! The food was on time for pick up as well!

Gone down hill fast. Every piece of chicken burnt to a crisp and tough.

Good, but not the best. Walking in, you’re greeted by great staff with smiles and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. I had the Regular (2 meats option) teriyaki chicken and teriyaki steak (+$2 small portion), which was good, but both were sort of bland and dry without the added sauce. This came with 2 small scoops of rice and a scoop of the macaroni salad, which were ok. Family ordered katsu chicken, teriyaki chicken, and kalua pig. They liked it. None of the meals come with a drink so for me and a total family of 5 paying almost $17 a plate for very controlled portions with no drinks and food thats just okay isn’t worth it. Yes, it’s new to the area and a refreshing break from burgers and bland tex-mex, but I’ve made better at home for less. It was a nice experience, but didn’t blow my mind. Parking is very limited and apparently tricky for most as there were almost 2 fender benders as folks tried to maneuver around each other just in the time we sat down to eat. If you’ve got a coupon or really like chicken options this would be a great place for a quick but slightly pricey meal.

We’ve been to Mo’ Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food multiple times since they opened, and we normally don’t have any issues at all. We truly love the food here, which is why this experience stood out.

Last night, we ordered the finau favorite with teriyaki chicken and teriyaki steak. Flavor-wise, both were on point—tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. Our usual sides are white or brown rice, macaroni salad (which I always ask for separately), and cabbage. We requested extra cabbage, but when we got home, there was no cabbage in the box. We also requested brown rice, and unfortunately it wasn’t fully cooked. On top of that, the meat wasn’t hot or even warm—it was basically cold.

Since this was unusual for them, we called and spoke with the manager on duty, Nathan. He immediately apologized for the inconvenience and acknowledged that our order was not made correctly, including the undercooked rice and the food being cold. Nathan was very polite, understanding, and professional. He told us to come back either that same day or anytime, and they would make it right.

Since that visit, I’ve been back two more times and received extremely great service, so it may have just been an off night with one employee. I haven’t seen her since, and everything has been great.

Thank you, Nathan, for going above and beyond and handling the situation so well. We look forward to continuing to enjoy great food and good service here in the future!

Me and my family come here quite often. I absolutely love the Pulehu Chicken my all time favorite meat on the menu. We came here grand opening week and have continued to come support this business. The quality and product control has been precise every time. I get the same deliciousness every time I come. The staff are friendly and generally have a great sense of humor. This place blows Hawaiian Bros out of the water. Come support better flavor better quality and better service. Live Life Mo’Bettah!!!

Great food. The place is great. My husband has gone to the one in Mansfield and wanted to take me so we came to this one since it’s closer to home. The menu is easy to understand and read and they make sure you get what you want. Prices are reasonable, and you get a lot for your $$$. I got the regular and it will end up being two meals for me. The staff was friendly, and the place is VERY busy, and people are talking highly of it in the area. We will definitely be coming back. 🙂
