This restaurant is phenomenal. I have been here around 10 times now and have not been disappointed. The food is amazing, and the service is so fast it is almost unbelievable. It takes maybe 10-15 minutes for a takeout order on any day at any time and for dining in they always seem to have just enough space even when they are slammed. The onion soup is delicious and so is the hibachi steak. The serving of rice is kind of small but I have seriously never been disappointed by this place nor have I been left with an empty stomach. Thanks Mizu!

Phenomenal service. Delicious food.

The only drawback here is that, at the time of writing this, they have no policy or staff training about how to handle a difficult customer. There was a drunk patron… I mean this guy was wasted. He was loud and clueless and was wandering from table to table attempting to strike up conversations with strangers as if he were in a bar. The only problem is that Mizu is not a bar. It’s a rather nice Japenese Restaurant. Staff were tiptoeing around this guy and trying to avoid him. Which put a number of sober customers in very uncomfortable situations. This is a shame. I’m sure that Mizu is a perfectly wonderful experience on evenings when they’re not serving the town drunk. They need policies and training to handle this kind of thing.

Sushi and appetizers weren’t out of the world delicious, but definitely not bad either. Katsu is crispy, would recommend that and the Carnival Roll. Reservations are helpful for weekends as it does get busy (was a bit crowded and loud).

I cannot say enough positive things about this establishment. I have been coming here for years, and this is some of the best sushi I have ever had, and it is located here in my hometown, what a diamond!

The staff is always courteous and friendly, ensuring you have what you need and checking in on you repeatedly. The sushi is always good, as well as the hibachi. I primarily get sushi when I come here because it is so good, but I have stray away and gotten hibachi before, and it was delicious as well, however their sushi trumps everything else on the menu.

I usually start off with some sort of appetizer here, and this time I got the Japanese spring rolls, which were some of the best spring rolls I have had before. They were adequately filled and fried to perfection.

I am also always impressed with their sanitation rating, as it is always a 98 or greater.

I cannot recommend this place enough. There is ample parking, and the restaurant is pretty big, so no need to make reservations. Also, beware, they are closed on Tuesdays (weird), so do not try to go get your sushi on Tuesday like I did a few weeks ago.

This is hands-down the best sushi restaurant in Winston Salem. They have some very original rolls that are incredible. My favorite is the Hokkaido roll, which has apples in it. Also love the sunrise roll. You can’t really go wrong. We’ve tried at least half the rolls on the menu and have never been disappointed. They do get busy, especially on the weekends. And it does get a bit noisy when the Wake Forest students get rowdy. But the food is worth it. Always fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation and great service.
Been coming here for years now, and it has been nothing but consistent from the beginning. Even through the pandemic, they continued their quality through take-out.
Here tonight, in person, for the first time in over a year, and all I can say is “Bravo!” Still the best sushi around.

I’ve been eating at this place for years and it’s my go to spot for quick hibachi and the sushi is phenomenal. I also like the Japanese sodas with the little glass ball. It beats all the other spots in Winston (yes, even the “newer” places) for sushi quality and their lunch specials are a bargain.
The sushi chefs are authentic and friendly.
You can’t go wrong with any of the appetizers from the kitchen, including the scallops, lettuce wraps and dumplings..the white tuna fish tempura on the sushi appetizer menu is so so good – the texture and temperature is always consistent. The Chilean Sea Bass roll is delicious. I also love the filet or salmon hibachi dish and sometimes I add hibachi shrimp! My kid loves the mochi and masago sashimi; they always make my little one feel special when ordering from the sushi bar.

I ordered a combo meal for $25. I rec’d 12 tiny shrimp and a half cup of rice and loaded with waaay too much pepper. And no sauce and no soup. I called they said that was the right amount of shrimp but I was missing rice. They said next time I order I could get extra rice for free. Why would I order again from a company that sends out bad food the first time. How does that make since. And the dynamite sushi was meh. Ended up scraping the top mush off. That was $19. Garbage food for waaay too much money. I don’t mind paying more for good food but dang I don’t want to pay more money for crap food and half the amount.

First time coming to Mizu for lunch, what a great experience! They have great lunch special deals; I got the spicy tuna roll, the eel roll with avocado, and the boston roll. Great sushi and it came out really quick. We walked in with a group of 7 and they accommodated us immediately. Service was great and the indoor dining is really cool. I will definitely be back.

We ordered sushi and a side of fried rice. The food is so good. What I love rhe most, is that you can eat sushi here and not break the bank. Highly recommend.

I’ve never really had sushi before, and if you haven’t either this is definitely the place to go for your first experience! We ordered the Rock Shrimp Tempura appetizer And it was awesome. My guest ordered the Peace Haven Roll and thoroughly enjoyed it, and I had the Caribbean Roll with shrimp and mango and it was absolutely spectacular with all the different perfectly blended flavors and textures. The sushi rolls were about $16 each and $7 for a large portion of fried rice that we both shared was a very affordable and remarkably delicious dinner. There are so many other items on the menu that I’d like to try, but my next meal will be the Mizu Lover’s Boat for 2 – assorted sushi & sushimi. Can’t wait!!! Hope to see you there!!
